Coming from the Apple ecosystem for approximately 15 years, I hadn't a clue about any of the Android universe and in some respects, seems a bit intimidating. For those wondering, iphone automatically sets your band to 5ghz when you connect to your hotspot. The main way to increase your speed would probably be a direct connection, so plugging your phone into your xbox/pc/ps, but i’m not sure how tethering works on apple devices

30-70mbps on my MiFI hotspot with tmobile 5g at work. Depending where I'm located, I can get upto 250mbps. At home I get 150-200mbps. I have spectrum Ultra (I get upto 490mbps), so I don't use hotspot at home, but it's my goto backup when I do encounter an outage which happened about a week ago. Hotspot saves the day for situations like that. I suppose to increase speeds you would have to manually configure the channel frequency yourself until you hit the sweetspot. I just leave channel settings to Auto.

By the way you're exactly right especially when it comes to prepaid data cards that offer you so much hotspot time I have to call them directly and had him upload the new card to even get the hotspot to work because on its own it does not you have to call them to unlock it by the way I will like and share your description was perfect on opening

I live at the top of a flat block and have no internet connection so i use my mobile hotspot for for my TV and Switch, i have unlimited data for this reason. Connection was okay but buffered from time to time. Swapped it over last night and it's so much better. Thanks 👍

Hello Liron. I recently got a Samsung S21 Plus phone and initially was using the phone for hotspot gaming. I am gaming on a console (PS4) though I came by a wall. Connection works but only issue was the NAT type when I connect my hotspot to the console. Any recommendations in which I can fix that? I usually have NAT type 2 for my PS4 but when I tried it with my hotspot for Samsung it just says “failed.”

A few days ago, I entered into a new plan with my provider. A 5G (AAAH! 'RONA!!) phone and a mobile wifi 'pocket' modem for my desktop (I live in a bus so need to be mobile). This setting change is great if your 'puter can run a 5 gig connection as well. Sadly, I'm throttled by an older wireless network card on the computer. However, having said that, the 4G 'Pocket' wireless modem is locked at 2.4 gig with no option to switch. It has very few tweaking options in the interface. Oh, I use 'fast DOT com' to test my Internet speeds.
