This movie took me back to my lower secondary (grade 6-8) and secondary (grade 9-10) school days. I remember how influential this movie was when it was released that my school had to issue a notice to our parents to not let us watch that movie as there were several fights happening in school on a daily basis.

Good thing they didn't have any weapons, you might not be writing this comment... I see people in the comments praising this and that's probably because they weren't in a REAL street fight... With baseball bats knives, stones, etc, anything goes... I am not even sure what kind of fights they had...Probably it wasn't as serious as they thought it was. Usually when you fight you might loose a teeth or two or/and suffer a severe injury ... Reality is not a movie...

This movie is quite in tandem with the realities of student politics in quite many regions of India but I have experienced this in Arunachal Pradesh. There are scopes for student union leadership. There are lots of money involved in this student politics as a democratic incentives for students and can also sometimes drag down government officials and has become a stepping stone for a political career. Whenever there is election the school becomes as messy as in this movie. While in the movie is about the power acquisition through fight and dominance, the same is in the student politics were the aspiring candidates play violent and dirty games to win the election. Also this movie has lead to many school fights in my hometown and the government schools students were notoriously the culprit in such actions.
