My kids could never understand where to take pictures. All of my pictures have piles of unfolded laundry, unwashed dishes etc. Anything that would embarrass me! My daughter proudly posted pictures on Facebook of my kitchen floor. She had washed a section of it and was so proud, I was humiliated of course. Love your little guys, too soon they will only be home for visits.

When I see a messy house belonging to someone I admire very much, it restores my faith in myself, and my mess. I should start my own hoarding show on KZbin. You are soooo creative. I don’t know how you come up with new projects week after week, while juggling youtube and family.you are one of the greats. And that child has the most beautiful eyes. I can see he is a great help. Now, back to the messy home. I’m always a little suspicious of a busy life and perfect house. Somethings hidden away somewhere. LOVE the shelving hack. I was trying how to do shelving in my 'yarn vault' where all my fiber products live. I want to make the fabric in to mini bolts, a Pinterest idea that my sister says makes her life so much easier. The problem is, with wire shelves, some of the mini bolts will slide right through. The foamboard will be an inexpensive way to eliminate that problem without having to expend $$ to get it completed!

Oh man, I love those shelves! I just used that wood contact paper on one of my kitchen countertops to make it look like butcherblock for a coffee station, and it turned out so good!! I gotta do this with out pantry now! Such a great idea! These shelves are fantastic. I don't have these type of shelves but this would work great over my existing wood shelves and dress them up and make them prettier. I've even thought about adding this type of shelf to a closet that is being used for storage but the idea of things falling thru the spaces stopped me. This is the perfect solution because this type of shelf is cheaper than wooden shelves. Thanks. I love this solution.

Good morning from France! I've just moved from a small town in the subburbs of Paris to a more country area about a 1 hour train ride from the heart of Paris. I now have lots of shelving BUT it's all covered in 3 or 4 layers of ugly, dirty, outdated and stained contact paper. It's impossible to get it off without sanding. The ones in the laundry room look particularly bad and the walls are a sickly, very unhealthy green color. Of course I do my laundery there and despite knowing the clothes are clean and sweet smelling when I fold them on a double layer of old, clean sheets stretched tightly over a counter top in there, I always get the feeling that despite my efforts the clothes still aren't clean. I gotta get a grip! Why all this babble? Well, I had been dreaming of getting that type of open wire shelving installed and now these comments about things dropping through have made me think twice. Might be worth it after all to get those shelves sanded and painted BUT I don't think I could face more contact paper before a long time. 😊 I'll have to compair the cost of getting shelves sanded n painted n the cost of that wire shelving which I like the look of in a laundery room. I could use plastic baskets on them. Thank you all for sharring yr ideas and preferences, it's great food for thought! I'm inspired to unpack my jard of elbow grease n get on with it. Happy Spring cleaning!

The wire shelves are lighter and easier to install than wood and supposedly allow air flow thru the shelves. This is probably good for folded sheets/clothing, but don't think it matters with canned goods, food boxes, laundry products, etc. Those shelves can also be repositioned on their side tracks to change the relative heights as needed. For smaller items, any type of basket, plastic or woven fiber looks nice and allows you to pull it out to access the contents easily. I dislike contact paper, especially "wood" design; always looks cheap and fake to me. I use shelf liner that just lays on the shelf, no adhesive so very easy to remove.

Balsa Wood is wood so it can be stained or painted if that would match your decor better.
