My dad grew up in HK and was shocked that the peak tram was now an expensive tourist attraction. In the past, I thought it cost more to use the octopus card for the tram but maybe its the same now. I don't recall the HK tram having a tourist fee for the older one, it wasn't like that when I went I understand avoiding crowds, but visiting a place while it is completely deserted kind of takes away something too. Some places are known for being crowded and it adds to the "atmosphere" Like a market. Otherwise, it just feels like you're traveling during COVID. Have you ever considered this? It's ok to save some carbs and eat wontons without noodles, it's already wrapped in dough. I think it is more common with noodles in HK though. Yes, you absolutely missed out on the obvious day trip to Macau to check off another country. You could have even taken the bridge across and avoided the ferry. I was expecting your next video to be in Macau lol. Also, have you ever done that math on the cost of your coffee addiction and how many extra years you'd be able to travel without coffee?
@JordanandEmily6 күн бұрын
Hahaha thank you for this comment! It is insane how the tram can be so expensive after it being just general public transport! We have considered the less people angle and agree! Definitely don't want to visit a market that's empty but if it's too busy things take a lot longer and we tend to fit less in a day! Like the other comment on here about waiting on the tram for an hour! 😄 no thank you! We're genuinely bummed that we somehow didn't think of Macau! But we loved hongkong so much there's no doubt well be doing another layover there and then we'll include some time in Macau!
@enricovids6 күн бұрын
@@JordanandEmily I do agree on avoiding lines. I also try to fit as much as possible in a day. Hotels are expensive, I can relax at home lol If I recall, there's a way to arrive at the at HKIA and transfer directly to the ferry to Macau without entering HK and they transfer your checked baggage too. Now that they have the, maybe there's a bus option too

Respectfully- the generic “ Top 5 “ videos has been done to death now by vloggers now 2025 is hopefully going to shift maybe towards more authentic KZbin Travel content This is great but guys , it feels forced , unoriginal and boring. This feels like a Chat GPT designed “ How to host a travel show “ You guys are bubbly and positive - but the music is absolutely basic , unoriginal and vapid . If you are trying to audition to host a travel show on tv , bingo you will get the job But this is the loudest , more trash “ transition music “

Karma is a wonderful and powerful force as I am sure you will experience soon. Constructive criticism is one thing, but to be exceptionally mean because you can (and maybe just who you are as a human), is pathetic. You’re homework: be kind, be better, and apologize when you aren’t those things. When it happens…and it will…remember that was Karma giving you a teaching lesson. Hopefully she will be kinder and gentler than you were.

I don't know why other people watch this channel but I'm an avid traveler (73 countries) and like to see them visit new countries I may visit in the future or reminisce on countries I visited in the past. Seeing what they think the "Top X" things to do seems like a good format. That's probably why so many vloggers do it, it works. If you goto ChatGPT and ask what the Top 5 places are to visit, it does not match the place they went. An HK video without the peak or star ferry would seem like a pretty big omission. They did go to a few places that I had never heard of so I thought it was a good mix. If you've watched their other videos, it's not always a "Top X" format. It does seem appropriate for a major city. I assume the music is some royalty-free selection that they thought fit the videos. I think it's a good fit. If I'm going to ding them on something it would be going to places without first checking the prices or even hours. It is nice they show it in the video, but it does feel sad that they have wasted their precious short time in a location due to not doing a quick google search. (Especially in a place like HK where you can easily find this information online). There are hundreds of other travel vloggers out there. I watch a few other channels. This isn't the biggest channel, but I still find myself coming back to this channel the most often when I want to watch travel content. So they are doing something right for me. I don't not necessarily match the typical demographic and maybe they'd get more subs with a different format, but then I might not be as interested in that case. It really depends what their goals are for the channel. I think they've stated that they don't intend to try to live on the revenues (eventhough it would be nice for them if they could). Maybe they just want a video record so they can look back in the future. If you think there is something they can improve, maybe you can actually give some recommendations on what you think would be more "authentic". I suppose some of the historical facts seem forced but you can see them literally reading from wikipedia. The video would be lacking if there wasnt any historical information at all though. Otherwise, everything else seems pretty "authentic" to me. Maybe you are referring to those entirely scripted videos to be made to look like an "authentic journey of self-discovery while getting lost in a city"
