Absolutely love your videos! I am a coach myself, and I am considering making a trip to the academy with my most talented U16 player. He is at a regional/national level. What is the possibilities for him to have a few sessions with a pro coach and how, if possible, do he get a hitting partner/ match opponent at same level for a few hours a day? 😀

Hi! Many thanks for setting this channel, one can tell the great effort put into sharing the beauty of tennis. Much appreciated. I had the chance to experience a somehow similar experience (i.e. one week in a tennis academy in Barcelona) and I got to wonder: May you be able to explain about the differences between cultures whether it is Spain, France, England or so, as well as which academy may be better in which area? Again, many thanks for this great work. Keep it up! - José

I’ve done one in Barcelona and I’ve done Mouratoglou. The programs were similar at both. Mouratoglou was a bit better organized and from what I could tell the kids enjoyed Mouratoglou more. There were kids at the Barcelona program who didn’t want to be there. On the other hand there are a lot of camps near Barcelona so that may have been just this one camp. I asked some of the people at Mouratoglou about it and they said that they didn’t keep the kids unless they were putting in the effort. The culture within the camps was not much different. Biot is a bit further from tourist areas than most of the Barcelona camps.

Thanks! It really depends on your age and stage in your tennis… functional movements are usually very beneficial (mimicking moves that you will use on court like you see Felix doing in this video) possibly adding resistance.

Strength and conditioning for tennis is always seen as a "pro" thing, but actually as a slightly older player it's becomes more important to allow you to play as much as you would like. It strikes me that it is something you can't find much information on beyond how to recover from a specific injury?

Great video once again. As a former Bolletieri protege in 1985, I was curious to see how the young kids train today at the academies. Very very different from my day. I was actually shocked. I got to meet Felix the other day while he was at the same M25 in Heraklion, Crete Greece. I had wished to talk with him but he was busy with other players. Anyways, thanks for your awesome videos and for providing vital information. Best of luck to you both 🎾🏆

@GrungePopRecords
@GrungePopRecords Жыл бұрын
@@elchanclascocina it’s a very long story and too much to write here but as far as tennis training went for the elite protégés, it was 4 hours before lunch and 3 hours after lunch. We were on the court 7 hours a day every day except Sunday. Immense training and each day also had 1 hour split between playing a different sport for 30 minutes (cross training kinda) from basketball to soccer to dodge ball, etc and 1/2 of weights. There was of course stretching and a few miles of running and most importantly, we had mental lessons to work on the mental aspect which nick emphasised as the aspect that is needed to become a grand slam champion. The drills and practice matches we did every day and extremely different than what the young pros seem to do today and now I see why nick made such great champions out of Agassi courier and Seles from that period. Nick understood what it takes to create a grand slam champion even though he could not play tennis himself. He inspired us to play better than we thought was possible. The minute he was on court, our game would rise super high. His presence alone made you perform like a grand slam champion. Truly amazing…but yeah. It was very different than todays young pros training.
