The pin vice is one of my favorite tools for hobby related work, Model building and fine detail work. What a great hammer, great work as usual! I remember saying this previously that Stanley is one of the most comfortable hammers. My fathers go to for all things is that hammer, Pop used it for everything, even chasing me around after I had lost some of his tool!!!!! lol 😂😂🤣

Great video, the hammer turned out awesome. I add a couple of tablespoons of Jet Dry to my bucket with dawn dish soap and water. This keeps water spots off the glass when washing it off with a hose. No squeegee required.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Glass Wax for cleaning windows but during Christmas the sold or gave away stencils to put designs on your windows, snowflakes Christmas trees etc. I have an almost perfect Stanley steel master that was rarely used. I hardly use nails anymore. Love the channel

Pin Vises are great and I use them frequently. I too prefer the one with 2 collets because you can use them for wire drill too. Than hammers look beautiful and the scraping of of the paint with a razor blade was a neat idea. Thanks for sharing this.

Nice work on the hammers. They look great! I guess I wasn't screaming loud enough for you to hear me yesterday, but denatured alcohol will dissolve latex paint. I found that out from a Sherwin-Williams Rep when repainting my church. I used denatured alcohol to confirm the previous paint was latex and not oil based. Since that, I've used it for cleaning tools and final cleaning of paint brushes.

The SteelMaster looks terrific. Very well done. I recall a cheapo knock-off of the SteelMaster getting a ding in the shaft when I missed a nail head. I have a Craftsman fibreglass handle hammer with some fibreglass missing due to missing a nail head. I eventually purchased an Estwing. I still have the Craftsman and Estwing, but I prefer the Estwing. Quality and made to last my lifetime. Dave.

Dave- those longer nails will often slip by the face and strike the handle, lots of pro carpenters used to wrap a piece of metal around the neck with steel. 😃👍

Great tip on the squeegee. I used to use a shower squeegee on the inside of the vehicle windshields. Not so much anymore due to the concave shapes of the glass. Great show, Scout. Many thanks!

Right on, Scout! My jagoff brother-in-law had a knockoff hammer like that which was his pride and joy . . . until I got my hands on it. We were in a stairwell doing a basement remodel. I was having NO LUCK pulling a 20d nail with my 16 oz. finishing hammer when I said to him, "Let me have that beast that you're so proud of". I tried my damnedest not to laugh as I pulled that piece of shit into a pretzel shape while the spike didn't budge. During our next lunch break, I took him to an industrial supply house and bought him a real hammer.

John, I picked up a used Stanley Nailmaster awhile ago. The Nailmaster has the forged steel shaft instead of tube steel. Cleaned it up just like you did including the "Scoutcrafter" red. Never thought much for the steel shaft hammers, I guess I thought they'd transmit too much shock! But surprisingly the Nailmaster seems to be my go to hammer and the one I reach for the most.

I was just looking at my steel hammer which I thought was a Stanley but it isn't marked. Hmmm. It's been through the ringer so if it is a knock off it still served well. Today I use an Estwing or some wooden handled hammer depending. But I am sentimental about my old steel tube hammer that I had when I was very young.

As I understand it with some rubbers when it gets tacky and pealing you can use strong rubbing alcohol to make it like new. Not only would it remove the bad layer it might clean off the paint.

Paint is so hard to remove without screwing up the soft under material. 😃👍

I am pretty sure Stanley made the PowrKraft hammers for Monkey Wards. When I washed store windows back in the late 80s people still smoked in businesses. We put tsp in the water. Those windows would run brown the first time you did them. Seejanedrill had a video on cleang hard paint out of brushes by soaking in murphey soap. I wonder if it would work on these hammers?

If the tubular part was hit while hammering if you miss it was useless and bent forever . people go for cheap instead of quality . Like boots or shoes ,i buy quality Aussie made or part Aussie made , a bit more money but better and last up to 3 times longer
