I've been homeschooling since before it was popular and Catherine, I always thought you would make a good homeschool teacher, because after all they are at your kids, NOT property of the state! If you want to do remote public school learning you can, however you should really look into real parent-led, parent funded homeschooling. You will do great and your children benefit the most. These are great tips. Thanks

I’m an Educational Therapist. Our county is also distance learning this year. I love your tips. Designating an area for “school” is so important. Even when utilizing the whole house to accommodate flexible seating and alternative learners, it’s essential to have a central location for supplies. I especially love the schedule visible for all to see. This helps everyone stay on track and prevents the “What do I do, now?” moments.

I live in a small 2 bedroom apt (less than 1,000 square feet) and I successfully homeschooled my daughter for 11 years (she just finished her freshman year of college) and our 'school room' was everywhere! We had so much fun! I miss those days so much - nothing more exciting than coming up with creative ways to bring learning to life and seeing your child respond positively. Take advantage of this time and resist making school so sterile. Some of our best learning days were spent all day on the floor making index card time lines that took over the apartment, hours snuggled up on the sofa taking turns reading, writing different styles of poetry all featuring our new pug puppy (that collection hung on a wall for several years ☺️) and making a huge poster using photos from the internet, paint and lots of mod podge featuring all the President's and their pets. Good luck!

Great ideas but I'm so glad my sister and I got to attend school. Socialisation, teamwork, resolving differences, other adult interaction, understanding other people from other backgrounds, friends for life and growing independence from your parents. I understand that everyone wants different things for their child but I am so glad I didn't miss out on a proper school life.
@Myeverydaywifelife4 жыл бұрын
This is great but also parents should know you don’t have to have a homeschool room! My sister home schooled her 4 kids and they just did their school work at the Dinning table, or read on the couch or even put pillows in the bath tub in read in there be creative. “School” is done in the whole house!

Yes, absolutely! Traditional homeschooling, not to be confused with distance learning, is a lifestyle. It's homeschooling, not school at home. Many students prefer the floor or sofa or even sitting outside over being at a table or desk.
@Myeverydaywifelife4 жыл бұрын
The eCommerce Mom Thats true distance learning is different than home school but I just don’t want parents who are going to home school to think they have to have a School Room! Most homeschool families that have one don’t even use it! Your whole home is your classroom.

We’re remote learning as well. I have an 8 year old going into 3rd grade and 4 kids starting Pre-K. We did a “homeschool” closet. I took a closet thats just off of our dining room and turned it into a space to hold all of our school stuff. It’s neatly organized so we can pull everything and everyone gets around the dining room table for school time, then we can put it all back in the evening. Hoping its really functional for us.🤞🏻#firsttimehomeachoolmom
