Just a little tip: I think you should open the kitchen on the room without windows and also to the room with the balcony so you can create a contemporary and open plan living area. What you're most likely seeing on the outside of your "1,000 old building" is an ancient architectural structure called a "batter or talus." A batter or talus is a sloping face at the base of a fortified wall. Defensive walls were often built thicker at the bottom. This was to support the curtain wall of a castle or fortress, or the outside walls or buildings of a castle from cannons and being breached, but also to hold the thick walls up as support too. *Try to find some records in your church parish that will explain who the owners of your building were and the history of your town. Most of your Italian villages and towns were attacked through-out the thousands of years of history by Italian city-state monarchs, but also by pirates, and even the Turkish Ottoman Empire.

This past weekend I discovered your videos. I cannot say often enough, how interesting and captivating your contents that I've had the time to view, has been for me. I have fallen in love with your precious baby girl. Her smiles and giggles are refreshing. I particularly enjoy her "royal wave" when she feels it necessary to share it with us. Years ago, I spent one month in Nervi, northern Italy. I stayed with a friend who was finishing medical school in Milan and living in Nervi. I fell in love with Italy. By the time I left, I was able to go to the grocery store by myself, order coffee, etc. OH, and order focaccia. While in Italy, although we had a car available, we often took public transportation to and from our tourist-like trips. I became very comfortable being the only American. I received a lot of compliments on my clothing from the young girls! I will make sure to continue to follow you and will mention you to my friends. Just some ideas: Recessed bookcase as you already have a hole in the wall where the old connecting doorway was. Replace the wall between the bedroom and the little tiny bedroom as you can see the original outline of the opening from the tiny bedroom's side and add French doors. P.S. You look lovely in your new dress! Very feminine and airy with nice smocking. It was rewarding to see that the art of plastering is still available in this world of drywall.They did a perfectly beautiful job. We love your family and your videos. I just found your video about the 1 euro initiative. We had a very similar thing here in England in Liverpool and other northern towns that were quite run down and deserted. Even a whole street! I live in the south of England on the coast where it is too expensive to buy and all property seems to be sought after and highly priced. I absolutely love Sicily. I travelled to Italy and Sicily alone back in 2017/18 for 6 months. It feels like home. You have a new subscriber. I can live my dream through you. I would love to do something like that but am too scared to do all that alone, it's a big project for a foreigner who speaks very basic Italian. The transformation of your property already is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your journey and your beautiful family. Luce is very cute too!
