Doesn't putting points into commando AND rifleman seem like a waste? If you pick a weapon (handgun/rifle/automatic) and upgrade one of them you can use those points in something else. It just seems like you should focus on one rather than spend on multiples...but i dunno.

Yeah you certainly could. Sometiems it’s really helpful to chip away at enemies with a short scoped rifle and then deal with them with an automatic weapon from there on. It’s just my preference but automatic weapons are pretty bad from range generally… especially early on. Good question though!👍🏻

A non-VATS build for Permadeath does seem to want Commando. Or maybe Heavy Gunner. A fully auto weapon makes sense. Although I’ve never taken either, I’d seriously consider Steady Aim and Basher. For run n’ gun, you’ll want a mix of hip firing with ADS, because you’ll need to move faster than you do when you ADS in many situations, and the extra accuracy hip firing will really help. (Also, Rank 3 adds 5% damage, which makes up some for not taking the PER/AGI tree damage bonus perks, not to mention listing critical) Adding Basher will maintain the quick flow of action, so you don’t have to wait to swap to Melee. Cannibal is good healing in Survival, as it is instantaneous. It also takes care of hunger. Coupled with Ghoulish, and Lifegiver, you can save a ton of carry weight in the later game. Once your level 60+, it takes a suitcase full of food just to fill your hp bar once. Those perks solve that problem.

Well, That...was...interesting. This is the first time I've ever seen any of your videos. I'm thinking you must be one of those Speedrunners I hear about. You definitely, in my eyes anyway, were speedy in this one. So speedy, you passed right over loot you were looking for. But then, I'm a hoarder that picks up everything, so when I'm looting I go slow enough to look into every nook and cranny. Then go back thru the entire search area again, usually going the other direction to get a different perspective of what I am looking at. I "liked" the video and read all the comments and "liked" all them too. For the algorithm. Now I have to find your next video in this series. Adios.

Nice vid. For a tip if you grab the 2 melons and 1 gourd from behind the workbench house, then just behind the house with the cellar close to a tree there is 3 more gourds to grab and then if you go a few feet north (I think) from them you should find another gourd. If you plant all you have you should have just enough for the Sturges quest.

Hi. What will be the tactical differences between this run and your previous F4 SP? I mean this in the sense that last time you covered the north-west corner thoroughly and worked your way outwards. My instinct is to do Cambridge Police (Danse) and Diamond City early, because there's a lot of easy xp that way. Olivia, for example, is harder.

I’m in the middle of a challenge run, but I’m definitely tempted to try Permadeath. It would really change up my philosophy on builds. For instance, in my current build, I wanted to see how far i could get without a generic weapon damage buff like Heavy Weapons, Iron Fist or Commando. Instead, I specced my starting SPECIAL to give me access to Penetrator and Concentrated Fire, and use those kind of perks for the damage boosts (ie Gun Fu, Blitz). I’m at level 64, and am still doing fine. But, in Permadeath, I can totally see putting points into things like Rifleman early game. I can totally understand why some players doing a VATS build go AGI and LCK, but I personally prefer PER to LCK. I like the better accuracy. And PER tree has good utility Perks. LCK tree is really strong, though. But i also prefer PER first, and then LCK, so that the better accuracy build critical meter faster. My current challenge run is fun. Survival, no aid items, no companions, no Power Armor. I can use only Noodle Cups, Water Pumps or ground water for fixing thirst State, and food any food to fix hunger State. I am not allowing caffeine (nuka cola).

i'm still getting caught up on nuzlocke and want to follow the New Vegas playthrough, but still looking forward to this! i actually started a new playthrough myself, and it's kicking my ass -- no perks (only SPECIAL points), no crafting, no cooking, no vendors (including doctors to heal), no building (except Mercer Safehouse, Boston Airport, and Home Plate), no VATS, and no power armor. it's forcing me to play in completely different ways than i'm used to, and as aggravating as it is at times, it also feels pretty rewarding for me :)

It’s not from scrapping items it’s from building things like metal and wooden shelves! You can also do it with picture frames and I’m sure other things! That’s why we scrap down the whole town😃
