The coccyx, or tailbone, is the remnant of a lost tail. All mammals have a tail at one point in their development; in humans, it is present for a period of 4 weeks, during stages 14 to 22 of human embryogenesis. This tail is most prominent in human embryos 31-35 days old.The tailbone, located at the end of the spine, has lost its original function in assisting balance and mobility, though it still serves some secondary functions, such as being an attachment point for muscles

I had a feeling all the stages of evolution are revealed in the development of an embryo ! Exciting stuff!

I was with you until 3:37. You jumped from completely factual to open fallacy. The embryo never resembles a fish, amphibian, or reptile. It resembles a human embryo. The "tail" it has and loses isn't a tail, it's the future anchor for the muscles and tendons that hold the currently undeveloped legs in place. Even just watching the video shows that it looks NOTHING like a fish, amphibian, or reptile. The strongest case you have is the tail until you realize what the tailbone actually does.

You do realize that this is from a documentary made by some TV channel right? Who on earth are you arguing with? The uploader? Lol

You're right. What you're talking about is the "capitulation theory." Charles Darwin said that when human fetuses grow they DO NOT go through the evolution of a species. If you want to see more, look up "CrashCourse Biology #16" They talk about at 7 minutes and 50 seconds into the video.

Yeah that whole thing on going throguh the stages of evolution like having a tail was one of the most unscientific things I've heard. That was a lot of artistic license for a scientific explanation of human development.

how did a scientist learn all this? Used a microscopic camera for follow the seaman to the embryo? I mean there is information that this 3D animation is accurate? How did that information come to be?

Isn't this part of "the journey of life" that I saw back in high school years ago?

by who?...The appendix, wisdom teeth, the muscles that allow some of us to wiggle our ears are just some examples of human vestigiality..there are countless examples in many other mammals too...it's all part of evolution.
