I really really like this ! I’ve “cut” 100’s of blocks! But no more. And I really really like your choices of fabric. I may be to “matchy” but you always put things together that I really end up thinking “hmmmmm” ! You inspire us all!!!!

I’ve only been quilting for about 10 years and I’m 70 years old. I really like watching your quilting videos where you just do what you feel comfortable doing. That’s extremely comforting for me because I was taught “perfect is best”. I just love watching you. Merry Christmas Darlene.

Perfection is not fun! I like sewing to be fun. I have enough stress in my life. I don't want fabric and a sewing machine to contribute to my stress. lol

I’m the same age and have been quilting for 12 years and I also was thought that perfect was best. Ugh..... Love watching Darlene because she throws rules out the window. 👍

Hi Darlene! I made two quilts for my children out of my Dads old shirts..he passed away several years ago and watching your videos gave me the confidence to make them. I used MANY of your techniques and suggestions, and they loved the quilts. They were far from "perfect" but both kids said it was the best gift I had ever given them. Thank you Darlene!

It's a good thing that your pieces aren't perfect but they do turn out that way. Love your perkiness.

You have single handedly inspired me to sew again. It’s been a while. My house burned down so I’m replacing everything, and I mean everything,! I just got a little singer serger sewing machine on eBay, and am waiting for fabric and thread I ordered on eBay. I went to the thrift store in millinocket today and bought some scrap fabric. I’m so excited. I strarted following you a short while ago and you tell my story when you vlog. Wonder if we could be related and don’t know it, we have way too much in common. I love ya girl, so happy to find you on KZbin. You make the coolest stuff.

That's funny I'm seeing this video I just got through making a blanket a lap blanket actually for a little lady and I use three layers of cotton no batting and I crisscrossed it and made a rag quilt it turned out so nice.

Girl, you are a scream! I know just what you mean about that plastic tape measure in lieu of a winter coat! I laughed so hard my doggy came out to see what happened! Good thing I still have my fabric tape measure from 7th grade - and that was a hundred years ago!

I’ve got a question I have fleece I think,did you say the fleece won’t work for the rag blanket? Oh boy I’ve messed up big time bc I’m on disability n I’ve gone out n bought fleece to make my 4 that’s FOUR granddaughters a rag quilt n I bought 21/2 yards of each material to make their rag quilt. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. I know you will be able to save me. Thank you. I just love your videos. This is supposed to be their Christmas 2018 present n I used my Christmas funds up for this year for them. Being on disability really limits what I can do. Please help.
@darlene.michaud7 жыл бұрын
You can use the fleece and still snip it. It won't fray but it will at least be snipped and it will still be beautiful.

Anything made from grandma (especially with Love) is going to be treasured and appreciated I'm sure! My 14yr old daughter still loves a blanket my mother made for her when she was just starting to relearn how to sew. My mom has been trying to convince her she'll make her a "better" one, but my daughter just says no thanks could you make me this or that instead lol Love goes a long way dear don't forget
