Typically speaking , does a seller use eBay to source quality pieces and they flip it at an auction similar to this one here ??? I only ask because lot #126 Starting at 4:20 in the video . the pair sold for $5000 When I would think each piece would go for a little over $1000 each on eBay . Thanks

It's possible, however, I think a pair of Mark and Period bowls like these on eBay would probably bring the same amount if offered by an established seller. If the seller is new however or without a track record for selling validated Chinese items the listing's authenticity would be more scrutinized. On eBay, final prices rely heavily on who is selling them. From our own experience, we've sold hundreds of higher priced items ($5,000 to $100,000) for about the same prices Christie's or Sotheby's would get...every situation is different though. I know many sellers who've been rejected by the big three (C, S, B) only to sell the item on eBay to well known Chinese dealers for $20,000 to $80,000. So, in the end there is no hard and fast rule book about any of it..Best Peter
