Keep it on the downside of the 2nd wave behind the boat so it is always surfing down the wave. Will give you at least a1/2 knot or more in speed rather than on the upside of the wave which causes drag. See you next week ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝👙🌞✨

The very efficient and common 12v compressor refrigeration units only have 2 achiles heels. Thermostats and the control modules. Keep spares of both, it will be a rare year you don't need one on a full time cruiser in the tropics.

It was the module that went out on our fridge too. Luckily the guys at Ozefridge sent along a spare module when we intially bought the icebox conversion kit. It was a quick fix where I didn't even need to leave the boat. We bought another controller module for a spare right away. Two is one, one is none. One nice thing about our eutectic fridge is that it never needs to be defrosted. We have never needed to defrost it the entire time we have had it other than the day it broke when the lighting hit us, and also a few weeks ago when we left our boat for a while to go visit my parents and left it off while we gone.

No it hasn’t, however, we have had friends conduct the “test” and have had the rare instance of a numbing sensation presenting itself so no chances were taken and that fish was chucked
