I have become very interested in becoming an amateur magician for the last couple years. Watching and learning when possible. At my young age of 69 it is awesome to watch masters at their craft! Special thanks for all the " self-working" card magic! It makes for a great way to perform without having to be a pro at making the "Hand" moves that you and other professionals have spent hours / years perfecting. So thank you for your tutorials and opportunities to add them to my small but growing card magic repertoire.

you're not like me, I can assure you that. Also, you SHOULD be a sex addict. Being addicted to sex is not bad. Well, not as bad as being addicted to drugs or guns anyway :) ... Also, why the fuck did you subscribe to my channel? I'm not gonna upload any clips EVER cause I don't own a camera and even if I did, I have better things to do with my life (like trolling on youtube for example) than wasting it with making videos

You could also give the person your prediction to have them keep it until the end of the trick and once you begin to flip the cards over have them read the numbers out loud as you lay the correct cards down

Now Jay, Thank you for this awesome tutorial. Whenever you put out a new video, I usually try it out on people to see their reactions and 99% of the time they are amazed. At the end you don't have to keep track or sneak a peek. Just flip the cards and then place them down left to right or right to left depending on which card is on top. Way easier.

Magic is a an art that is fading and we need more magicians to keep it alive. Most people can't figure these tricks out and we have less magicians. Personally I need these videos because I've been running out of material to do because of how few of people are interested in magic.

Tried this trick tonight to complete success. I didn't do either the even-odd memorization or look at the card on bottom. I just flipped the card on top and laid out the cards in the direction (left or right) based on what came up. It was the 3 so I went left to right, but I think had it been the 2 I could've laid it out right to left with no one being the wiser.
@iTeruri
@iTeruri 11 жыл бұрын
When you don't want to keep track, just flip over the cards when your done. If it's a three, deal the cards face-up. When it's a two spread the cards face-up.

Best done with names of famous race horses (Red Rum, Desert Orchid, Corbiere, Aldaniti, West Tip, Ballymoss, Wayward lad, Prince Regent, Tally Ho).Pencil dot corner of back of top card of stack. Three furlong race.False haymow mix cards and correct at each fence to represent the jump.The procedure is best disguised this way-Horse holds ground="Hold". Horse stumbles="Stumble".

As a math teacher I must say these are permutations as order is important. If order was not important then combinations would be the word used. Great trick and explanation. Cheers

Love this. I'll probably use this, but instead of writing down the prediction, I'll use a stack of cards from the box as my prediction and spread them beneath the one the spectator did.

I developed a little mnemonic device using Ds and Ss. (ddsdsdd-ds=357,689,142). Goes like this: "Dan did sing. Daisy sang. Donald danced- (and then the re-do Mismag does with the three cards after that): Donald sang."

I use this effect a lot and use several spectators to call the mix, It,s worth repeating, BUT...the first time mix them an even amount of times and secondly an odd, the number is reversed and nobody notices its the same number backwards this adds to the effect.(destroy the evidence after the first)
@mobiusklein9140
@mobiusklein9140 9 жыл бұрын
jamesahibbard I do one repeat - by using a different combination of "down" and "swap" I generate a different number. Worth doing because it adds to the confusion.
@davegann4178
@davegann4178 8 жыл бұрын
I think that the prediction process of this trick could be improved on by writing out the number three digits at a time for each time the spectator goes through the 9 cards (total three times). Writing it out ahead of time makes it too obvious that the magician already knows the number and so points to something fishy in the face-up and face-down difference. This way, it makes it appear that the magician simply has uncanny calculaitng skills.

Ha! Got it. Casually rattle off the names of some of the male standsup comics in the news. That's enough. Now notice I have cards going from E to T. ET Phone home (corny but great misdirection) (Exact order is E, K, V, N, I, H, R, A, T,. 2. I can swap two cards (lay face up so the E that was top comes in front of K and conceals it. Don't fan at all. Or put down (puts down V, switch (N conceals the I) So they are seeing K, V, N but it seems inconsequential so hopefully no one is memorizing those letters. Or put down H, switch R covers the A or put down T. Set up complete 3. No more face up examples. Now I can quickly do as many face down examples as I want because it can't disturb the order but looks like it is shuffling. The more times I do face down switch, down, scenarios the more comedic it gets. 4. Finally the volunteer is allowed to show that they get the point and give their switch or down instructions. Most volunteers will find this part so empowering. 5. Cards are turned over to show name of person whom they had just mentioned.
