Just a tip for the trick: It seems kind of suspicious if you switch from face up/face down to face down/face up on the third dealing, so In the preparation if you count 14, 15, 15, (instead of 10,15,15) and the remaining cards (5 in this case) put them in the fourth pile, then you wont need to do the switch, instead you can stick with the face up/face down routine through all the trick and it will also work! I´m not a pro or anything, I just wanted to share it with all of you guys :) Great video btw! :)

I realised this as well. It flows a lot more smoothly in my opinion. Also I perform this trick on 3 different spectators which eliminates the need for 1 person to remember 3 cards and mess it up. Instead of the face up/face down thing, I say i need to get from 52 cards down to 3 cards. So i start by splitting the deck with the first person. dealing them 1 card face down, then myself 1 card face down until we are both left with 26 each. Then I do the same with the 2nd person, until we both have 13 each. i do the same with the last person until we have 6 each and I give them the extra 1. Then you're left with 6 cards so I say to the first person "I'll trade you a card if you tell me what your card was". Deal them 1 more card face down, next card is their card. Same with the 2nd and 3rd person. I like this version as the spectators don't see any other cards apart from their cards. Just a different take i guess.

I like the idea of doing this trick with three people, each selecting a card they have to remember. I tried it and it seemed to work pretty well, with everyone expecting someone else to shout out their card. Then when you get to the last cards you flip them over and they all exclaim they see their card.
@nikilkumar10004 жыл бұрын
Good idea, gonna try this when I learn this.

I know this is an old comment on an even older video, but the version of this trick I do is with 3 people as well. Instead of doing the whole faceup/face down thing, I tell them that I have to get from 52 cards down to 3. So I split the deck with the first person. I deal alternating to them first then me, until we each have a pile of 26 cards. Then I do the same with the 2nd person, giving us both a pile of 13 cards. I do the same with the 3rd person giving them 7 cards and me 6. Then I tell the 1st person I'll give them an extra card if they tell me the name of the card they chose. I put one more card on their pile, then turn over the next card which is their card. Repeat for 2nd and 3rd person. Great trick!

If you make the piles 14 15 15 5, you can do up-down all the way through - and you don't have to change order to down-up after 2 turns. Maybe it's a bit cleaner to say you will put 15 in each pile and then you can do an un seen error when you count. The reason it works is because the cards will end up in position 6, 21, 38 - no mater how you cut the cards when they are placed back in the deck.

it's because if you alternate up down the way you do the 6th, 22nd and 38th cards will be the last 3 left, you could do the same thing putting 14 cards in the first pile, without moving 4 to the bottom... since you are putting the card on top of the pile every time you and putting 4 on bottom in the end you are forcing the cards to the appropriate positions in the deck to be the last three facing down... cool trick!! thanks for sharing

I made up a similar trick but with only 28 cards(For those who doesn't have a 52 deck).The moves are the same unless you always start with the up.So the 1first deck is 6 cards, the second is 7 cards, the third is 7 cards, the fourth is 5 cards.It works very nice.The plus is that you can show it even if a few cards in the deck are missing.Hope I helped)

@lastslytherin7 жыл бұрын
The math behind this trick is, once you have separated half the deck (26 cards each) by dealing them, the second pile of 26 cards will have the "unknown" three cards. And the easiest way to figure it is that on the second deal, their three selected cards will be in the 8th, 16th and the 24th position. Unless you want to stall till the end. :)

I will call this The Up and Down Trick. It uses 52 cards set up as the chose 3 that are concealed. I set up piles of 14, 15, 15 and 5. Rather than the cards taken from pile 2 and placed on the first cars that is placed on pile 1, I can finally utilize my giant soccer size dice to have a volunteer roll and this will provide misdirection and make it appear as if this chance as well as the 2nd roll which determines the # of cards from 3 to place on 2 somehow arrives at their cards mysteriously. In my performance I forgo choosing a # of cards from pile 4 and simply move all 5 of those cards over as an integrated final step of collecting all of the piles.

Ah Ha. I have an alphabet deck. I plan to use this set up to end up with a friend volunteer's initials. They'll be no asking to see their card of course, but the sheer giving them the power to cut anywhere yet still surprisingly finishing with their initials is wild enough.
