I hope & pray that I can be diligent to know the Bible well so that I can properly shepard my family with biblically accurate doctrine. Thank you all at bibleline for the work you are doing!

Pastor Jessie, I love this series on 1 John. Thank you for all the work you put into it, to help people understand this is not a test for salvation. I’m studying 1 John for myself right now. As you continue through the book, I have some passages I hope you will be very thorough in explaining. Some of them are: 3:14-15 (no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him), 4:2,15 and possibly others that make it sound like certain apostate churches who believe in faith plus works, etc are saved, because they can confess that Jesus came in the flesh, and he is the son of God.

Thanks! I know the reference of “no murderer hath no eternal life abiding in him” is referencing the flesh nature. The Spirit nature has no sin (3:6-9), and it is not a murderer. There is no law against the Spirit (Gal. 5:21-23). This is the two natures doctrine. - Trent

Such an underrated topic well explained. Crucifying the old self and submitting to the Lord, identifying with His death, burial and resurrection takes effor and commitment just like any relationship and God wants to have a living relationship with each and every one of us. Yet, many believers attack such a thinkinc as extreme or legalistic. Yet over and over we are called to live godly lives and put away all ungodliness. Alot of people don't have a problem with sin, they seem to have a problem with crucifying the old self. I have been called all the names for wanting to submit to God's Word for growth in Christ and fellowship with God. One believer even got jealous and spread lies throughout the whole church about me, literally murdering me by slander. Yet if this is suffering for my Lord Jesus' sake, I take it and just stick to Him through prayer and His Word. God bless you and your ministry for this timely message. All glory to the Lord our God.

@@BibleLineThank you Trent. God bless you! May I ask for help in prayer? The jealousy in church is killing me. Even though I don’t say much and stay quiet the hate towards me for encouraging for growth is unbearable. One man who is caught up in lust and immorality is having a constant go at me because he’s jealous that I don’t do and think the same as he does and that I stick to scripture. I humbly ask you. Finally found a church and now this happens. So much vitriol in the church.

For those unaware of the manichean gnostic roots of modern day Calvinism, Dr Ken Wilson has a book on the subject available online, as well as several KZbin appearances with Leighton Flowers discussing it. Gnosticism in various forms, especially within Calvinism still exists worldwide today. A topic well worth researching.. God bless

I have read the book by Wilson. An excellent book! Highly recommended! Calvinism is nowhere near biblical

This is great! Thank you! I must say I have looked for a sound church locally for some time now. I went to a reformed calvinistic church for some time but their calvinism and lordship legalism started to really bother me so I stopped going as for a few reasons. Then I have looked for other churches like lutherans but... their soteriology is messed up. In my country their official statement of faith says via water baptism we get God's grace regarding.... SALVATION! That ain't anywhere near biblical. Water baptism is only an act of obedience for identifying publicly in Christ Jesus, 0% of salvation. Then I have looked for others and I found this one and I thought, 'huh, maybe this could be it', but... it said they are oneness and apostolic, so they deny trinity and think there are Apostles today. 100% heretical, no thanks. This is why I am TORN in that I'd wanna fellowship in a SOUND biblical church, and not find some heretical thing in it, but also I wanna keep the secondary things as separate like your view on Israel, gifts of the Spirit(cessationism versus charismatics), eschatology, church history etc. You know, it is a tough place when you wanna fellowship with christians but don't wanna compromise on essentials and then most churches in your local area, as in mine, are unfortunately really badly messed up in some essentials of our faith. So.. I have asked this before but can you keep on praying for me to find a local church to fellowship in and go to? It is kind of discouraging to see there is a few sound churches out there to be found. I am not talking about perfect churches, just essentials are on point like not saying, as Lutherans do, 'water baptism has an element of salvation to it", so going into heretical stuff. Cheers anyways

Sure think Niko. You are an encouragement to us, and we love that we can post content for you on KZbin. Lots of people have the same problem, and we pray they find or start sound local churches in their area. If I may remind you of the exhortation given to Elijah to continue. He felt alone in 1 Kings 19, but the Lord reminded him of 7000 that have not bowed the knee to Baal. Thank you for your support and kind words. - Trent

@@BibleLine Well thank you so much man! And thanks to God for your Bible teachers, preachers and solid biblical content online!! Yes, thank you for the reminder regarding Elijah. I am 100% sure there are solid christians standing on God's Word and not compromising on heresies and I don't wanna sound like I am some guy who is the only one who is right in my country. That would be really prideful of me. I am sure there are matters regarding Bible I am wrong about but overall, even though I don't have a local fellowship, at least I can have these online fellowships for the time being. So thank you for that

Where do babies and young children go when they die?
@BibleLine

Heaven. David’s recorded statement regarding his child that died is astonishing. “He shall not come to me, but I shall go to him.” We also see other evidence in scripture regarding an age of accountability. God is merciful, and he wants everyone to come to repentance. He would not send someone to hell beyond their choice to believe. - Trent

I do know from studying it a lot that calvinism's roots are in gnosticism but arminianism is gnostic? What basis do you have for that statement?
@gregorylatta8159
@gregorylatta8159 Жыл бұрын
@NikoFinn It is a heresy that developed as a result of Calvinism. Both have secret alleged wisdom not found in scripture. You are free to disagree.
@NikoFinn
@NikoFinn Жыл бұрын
@@gregorylatta8159I am not disagreeing, Gregory. Just wanting some thorough basis and explanation for its claims. I don't wanna draw a conclusion based only on a short comment that claims arminianism is founded upon gnosticism. I just wanna be a "berean"(Acts 17, 1 Thess. 5). You know what I am saying? And are you talking about wesleyan or classical arminianism? There is a difference. The former is historically based on John Wesley and his brother who thought salvation can be lost but it cannot be lost. So if you may provide some links, documentaries or other historical proof that in context point to the fact that arminianism is based on gnosticism I would appreciate it.
@gregorylatta8159

@@NikoFinnIt's gnostic in the way I asserted. Jacob Arminius founded it as a response to Calvinism but it is equally heretical for obvious reasons.
