Thanks Pastor Skip - your sermons are really helpful for understanding the Word - especially the lesser known chapters! In the second battle between Israel and Syria, verse 20:29 says 100,000 Syrian soldiers were struck down in one day. I was thinking what a huge number that is - more than 1/3 of all US battle deaths in World War 2! And then verse 20:30 says 27,000 more were killed when the wall in Aphek fell upon them - presumably by an earthquake? This is about half the number of US soldiers killed in Vietnam. It would be interesting to know how many of Israel's soldiers were killed in the battle. But one thing is clear - with God on your side you cannot lose! God bless.
