I first got the LP in about 1985 or 86 when Lou Reed was on the spoken words tour. I was mostly into The Doors, the Stones , early Led Zep , Sabbath and heavy rock. Somehow this got placed on the player when the parents went out ! It was the music of The Outsider -- dark & raw macbre soulful bleak ~ and Lou was a sort of 70s Jim Morrison -- yet somehow far more real and more more urgent He didnt just want to Break on Through ; he actually lived in the Other Side and ... called it HOME ! Lou was tough minded, street smart ; cranky as Hell .... and brutally honest in his assessment of the grubby world around him filled with Lost Souls . This was actual poetry from the Streets; not some idealistic Love Street ! Today its a classic live LP and Lou is RIP.😢 The intro is mind boggling thanks to Steve Hunter who wrote it. I guess he is finally happy and at peace.

@MrCherryJuice3 жыл бұрын
Glann and John came from Toronto band Mandala, which evolved into Bush (long before the British band of that name). Domenic Troiano (RIP) (gtr./voc.) and Roy Kenner (voc.) were also in those bands. When Bush split, Troiano and Kenner took Joe Walsh's place in the James Gang, while Whitey and Prakash did Lou Reed and Alice Cooper ('Welcome to My Nightmare' era). Whitey (RIP) is also the drummer seen in Bette Midler's movie, 'The Rose'.
