In this video I take the body off the Frame with an Engine Hoist! Sketchy? I also find some more interesting mechanic work, and some lack of maintenance issues as well.

They're used on the anchor bolts for a house you put that on the bottom plate over the bolt you put the nut on top of that Crank it down keeps the bottom plate of your house where it belongs which is nothing but a piece of pressure treated two by four

Thanks for sharing your Blazer project. I’m restoring a ‘72 Blazer and having to replace rusty rocker boxes. Mine has the same square shims under the driver side front body mount. I assumed they placed these at the factory to line up doors with front fenders…not for sure though. I planned to put them back as I found them when I mount body back to the frame. Mine also had lots of flex when I removed the roof and suspect it’s due to rusty rocker boxes and A pillars. I used hydraulic rams from harbor freight to realign the door opening so doors would open and close w/out rubbing and then installed braces similar to what you did. Good luck with the build and I’ll stay tuned in.

Nice! 72’s had nicer interior door panels! Are you going stock restoration or modifying it? I’m doing a restomod of sorts, unfortunately the engine had been replaced in the past so it wasn’t original. The body shims I have normally found on GMs are U shaped, but there are a few out there that are fully square. Where I have seen these more commonly used as is a Framing Plate Washer used in Construction and are 1/8” thick. They’ll definitely work as a shim, I was just surprised to see them.

Definitely restomod. Going with LS3 and 4 speed OD tranny, four wheel disc conversion and 4” lift with better shocks…likely fox or king. Mine is hugger orange with the Highlander interior..:plan to keep that but likely go back with a similar color with metal flake. I really like inferno orange (gm color). We plan to drive and enjoy it long term.

@@cameronthompson356 nice, the Inferno Orange is an awesome color. Im going LS2 with a 4l65e, engine is at the machine shop right now. I haven’t settled on a color, I do like the Medium Blue it came with (and my Dad had a 71 Suburban in the same color) but I also would like something more modern. I need to make a decision!

@@cameronthompson356 I haven’t decided, I really need to do some drawings, I love that blue as well! I had looked at the Northsky Blue Metallic as one option… so many cool colors out there
