I don’t do jiu jitsu but from wrestling in college I can say the first part with chin and elbow positioning you can get people gurgling sometimes. Seems like solid technique to me

The final grip is what I need. I seem to use too much muscle over smart secure leverage. I'd love to see a guillotine finish grip closer up. I seem to be too high on the head more to the chin or tucker out squeezing

I'm no expert but the Gracies talk about doing the guillotine by "raising the window". They specifically talk about not cranking at the elbow. But what I see here is cranking at the elbow and the second arm is kinda compensating for this. Am I trippin?

There's so many different ways to finish a guillotine, depends on where you want the pressure, what grips you can get, are you standing, from guard, from half guard ect ect ect

It’s really good, but Cody McKenzie put me in a McKenzietine a few times when I thought myself guillotine proof. It’s just the best way. You need a weird lengky flexibility, but it is virtually undefendable if locked in.

That’s excellent. Coach I have a question for you. I saw somebody finish a guillotine from their back after his opponent rolled out of the guillotine (both he and his opponent were laying down on their backs when the choke was finished) I would love it if you did a video on this if you know the technique. I can’t find it anywhere on KZbin. I just saw it done in a match

Brandon...why not just use your right palm to push left hand up rather than wrap (or intertwine, maybe?) your fingers? Wouldn't it be the same amount of leverage? Btw. Great stuff!

2 reasons, at least: 1. I’m using a different mechanic for the choke than what you’re describing. Go back and watch the last 1 minute hack for details. 2. The McKenzietine method doesn’t stop my opponent from employing the most common defense, which it to reach his arm up and over my shoulder. The marcelotine was the innovation that solved that issue. This is a modification of the marcelotine grip

You do realize that if you go to choke, regardless of what choke it is, and your elbow closes over their back it's considered a fulcrum choke and therefore illegal for most ppl to do. But cool I guess for the mats
