Nice update! I started mine in February too and I use the same shampoo. I only use rose water and oil to retwist because product will cause build up, just a warning! Rose water is said to be way more effective than plain water at moisturizing too :)

Thank you so much for sharing! I'll definitely keep that in mind. :)
I’ve been natural for 5.5 years and decided late last year that I wanted microlocks. I initially wanted sisterlocks but the cost to install based in the length and density of my hair was way too much. So I decided to start doing research and decided to install my own microlocks via the interlock method. It took me 5 days to install and saved me $1400 dollars in the process. I see that you’re maintaining them my by palm rolling , you may want to look into interlocking your roots that way they won’t come a loose. also interlock instead of palm rolling as over the years palm rolling for some have caused thinning.

Same here!! I got a quote of $1400 to interlock my hair. I really want to do it myself.

ItsCinna Me you can definitely do it yourself. I did mine back at the end of November when I was off for a week. I just did one section each day.

Light oils and water are what works for my kids. Other products cause product build up for me or flakes but everyone is different. I never went to a loctitian. I palm roll... eventually it will work itself out. Patience is what you need.💜looks great

Have you ever thought about interlocking? I know process is long but I’m u won’t have to worry about unraveling fast

It's definitely a possibility. I'm going to do some more research on it. :)

Because you work out so much, have you considered interlocking? I have been loc'd for nearly 2 yrs, and I've always interlocked. I don't have the same workout regime as you, but I'm the mother of a 2.5 yr daughter with TONS of hair, so the interlocking is great for me because I can go soooooooo much longer before I have to do any maintenance on my roots vs a twisting loc maintenance routine.

There are a few ladies with sisterlocs who have interlocking videos that’s how I learned to do my own braidlocs one lady I watched glamnaturallife has a very detailed video she has regular locs
@AlsbeanNaturally5 жыл бұрын
Be careful with interlocking. So many have said that it weakens their locs
@fatimamanneh94325 жыл бұрын
AlsbeanNaturally that only happens when interlocking is done too tight or too soon interlocking only needs to be done every 4 to 8 weeks on a 2 point rotation or a 4 rotation depends on your new growth
@shawneegirl19805 жыл бұрын
@@fatimamanneh9432 exactly. Since you don't have to manipulate your hair is often...it actually can benefit your locs. Do whatever you feel is best for you

@@NaturallyMichy oh OK I just tried it and Ummmmmm Noooooooo it's not working😞😞😞 I'm starting with longer hair I guess but they looked too thin and I hv thick hair so maybe I shouldn't have blown it out??? And I've been natural since 13 😢😢
@NaturallyMichy5 жыл бұрын
I did mine on wet/damped hair which I believe is one of the best ways to start it off. The hair locs better when it's wet and wet hair shrinks to promote the locing process, so if you decide to try it again, you do not have to blow out your hair.
