I went to Africa for 6 weeks and the airline lost my bag. For that entire time I wore the clothes I wore on the plane. I showered with them on then let them hang dry. If they weren't dry I put them on and my body heat finished drying them. Nobody cared that I looked the same for 6 weeks and neither did I. My hair didn't need fancy shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers. The memories of that trip are of the people, the animals, the food, and the land.

That's a crazy story! You're right, you definitely don't remember what you were wearing or everything you packed when you travel, it's all the interesting people you meet and the crazy things you did.

Having travelled for months at a time out of 1 bag I agree with all your tips! I would suggest ditching the converse and buying a pair of sandals that you’re willing to part with if you need space. Sometimes it’s nice to let your feet breathe. For the clothes smelling, buy a mini bottle of vodka and mix it in a travel spray bottle with water (1 part vodka to 1 part water). If you spray it on your clothes it will neutralise the smell.

Thanks for the tips! We're in desperate need of some help with the close so we're heading to the store tomorrow to pick up some vodka and a spray bottle like you suggested! Hope you had/are having fun on your travels!

Oh! I work in theatre and we in the industry have used cheap vodka to deodorize costumes for...ever, lol. I personally would not recommend cutting it with water or anything-- just use the pure, straight vodka and spray it on your armpits/crotch areas etc. and the most important thing is to spray your clothes immediately after you take your clothes off.

Adventures with Sarah advises you to use mesh undies, they can be washed overnight in the sink and dry in an hour, also take bikinis that can double as underwear, so you have something to wear when you put your clothes into the laundry.

You mentioned having a blister. If you carry a roll of paper medical tape, you could put it right on top of your blister it's just like it's healed.

Nomad Lane Bento bag is still my favorite carry on bag for travels. :)

I really like your videos! My mum and I are headed away to Italy in Autumn for a quick trip. I did find the Eddie Bauer bag on that company's website as well as at the physical store near me and will be picking it up this weekend, which I am stoked about. What brand of toiletry travel containers do you have?

Hi! That's so fun I hope you have a great time in Italy! If you remember, definitely comment again after your trip - I'd love to hear about it! I actually hate the brand I got and wouldn't recommend. They were just ok, but I feel like there's better out there. I've been doing some research and I found a few that I've added to my amazon list. I've heard soft containers like the first link are more recommended because sometimes the plastic ones are harder to squeeze product out of, which I definitely agree with. Have a great trip and thanks for watching my videos! www.amazon.ca/Bottles-Refillable-Squeezable-Containers-Personal/dp/B09M9ZRWQD/ref=sr_1_20?crid=20IG7BI4TJR51&keywords=soft+travel+bottle&qid=1650668787&sprefix=soft+travel+bottle%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-20 www.amazon.ca/dp/B093X3H8XY/?coliid=I3A6LFEQR1ZE8M&colid=3AHAGL68F4UEQ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Loved this video, particularly because it was realistic. Sometimes I wonder how people get a huge pile of stuff into a carryon. One thought on underwear - have you tried Ex Officio? They're really easy to hand wash and they dry quickly. Two or three pairs and you're good to go.

I'll add that brand to my last minute Christmas list! We've been getting a lot of suggestions like this so I think it's time we check it out.

They are not at all sexy, but they will dry overnight. You can travel with just a few pair.

Do you have a lot of camera gear as well? I'm always curious how you fit that along with the other stuff into a single bag. I'm going full digital nomad in 2 months and I don't have any issues fitting my clothes and entertainment into a single bag ... but the camera equipment really adds to the bulk. Any advise?
@HannahGodard3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I actually shoot everything on my iPhone 12 and edit on my MacBook, and then I have a small, collapsable trip pod that I brought for videos like this one. That being said, I don't gave a ton of bulky gear (everything besides the tripod would have come with me anyway) so I can't be much help. If you're looking at a new camera option, though, and aren't keen on recording on your phone, I've had my eye on this vlogging camera: www.insta360.com It's really small and the quality seems to be pretty great. Other than that, I can't offer much advice - sorry! Good luck on your adventures that sounds amazing!

@@HannahGodard That is very helpful to know. Thank you. I have the DJI Pocket 2, and I've often wondered if I should just try to get by with just that. Sadly, I just don't feel that I can part with the other gear that I'd like to learn to use while traveling :(

What conditioner are you using for your hair?
@HannahGodard3 жыл бұрын
I'm using the TIGI copyright repair conditioner. I brought it from home since it's really important to have a good conditioner you trust and I highly recommend this one! My aunts a hair stylist and gets it for me at her supplier, so I have a 32oz bottle but I'll link a shop that seems to have it so you can check it out! www.canadabeautysupply.ca/tigi-copyright-repair-conditioner-8-45-fl-oz/ This is unavailable but it's the exact bottle I have: www.amazon.ca/Copyright-Repair-Shampoo-Conditioner-Samples/dp/B07VZ12YH2
