I actually bought the exact same phone about 2 years ago, I loved flip phones so much I decided to pull the trigger and buy one, and honestly the biggest issue for me was the lack of Spotify everything else was kinda a non issue, music was incredibly important to me and Spotify is the only music service that I've ever felt met my needs, so eventually after about 7 months I bought a Motorola razr gen 2 and had foldables ever since, until this time when I bought a nothing phone 2 as I couldn't afford to buy another razr at the time

I also have an Asus Zen laptop with a great printer to print out any tickets etc. I need. I simply use my flip for calls and a few quick texts. I pay $30 for unlimited talk and text. You don't know how useful your video has been for me!! Thank you so much for opening up, for showing us all the benefits of 'being smart' instead of letting the phone doing everything for you. The part where you described the process of music playing, I enjoyed it and it led me to a profound thought of "what happened to the times when it was us who had to be involved in more mental processes and didn't depend on technology" this really made me think how much our brains have become lazy. I know others might not have paid attention to that specific part of your explanation, or thought it was too much work, but that's precisely the point, in my case I loved to think about having to manually do things again! And you're totally right, sometimes we rely on text bc we want to avoid direct human contact, but it's really necessary to demonstrate interest to our loved ones and make the most out of our time on this planet!! God bless you, amazing reflection!!!

The biggest drawback to taking photos and videos with those phones (I have the same one) is that the "lens cover" being integrated into the phone's front cover means that as the cover gets scratched up, so does the area of it that covers the camera lens, which creates a hazy effect on photos and videos. Putting a small piece of black electrician's tape over it will keep that from happening. Just peel it off when you go to take a picture.

However, one huge caveat: _make sure your phone supports the digital cellular system your carrier uses_ . Because many cellphone carriers are turning off 2G (and increasingly 3G) digital cellular support, if you have an older flip phone it might effectively become useless. Check to make sure the phone supports Voice over LTE (VoLTE), which means it can work with 4G LTE digital cellular service, supported by most every cell phone carrier nowadays.

I haven't used cash since 2019. I pay for everything with my phone, shops, garage, everything. Also my parking app which checks where I am and sends me the code for parking in that area, again no cash required, deducted from your bank at end of the month. I love the idea, but it won't work. I am 71 and live in the Netherlands.

I ordered a dumb phone yesterday. I felt like the uncomfortable feeling of using my phone all the time and wasting days on end, would not compare to using a dumb phone. I find myself needing simplicity. I'm sick of scrolling.

I tried a digital detox and it took me about 2 weeks to go absolutely mental. let me say I don't do social media so that's not the reason but it just made a lot of things so difficult like banking, buying thinks online, texting and so on, so I went back to a smartphone but I got one with a rally small screen ( 3 inches) so now I use my phone much less but my laptop much more so really I just switch my problem from one device to another so if you are really have problem like me get help don't try to fix it your self

thank you for everything. Are you satisfied with the autonomy? also no bug? the manufacturing quality seems correct? many say that it is of lower quality than the Nokias of 30 years ago thanks

I am considering doing this, I have a question, I currently have an iPhone and I too am looking to continue using whatsapp, the thing I have no idea about is I am used to whatsapp backing up, I wanted to know if you put the sim back in your smartphone can you still use whatsapp and the messages will be up to where you left off when you took the sim out in the first place?? I don't really get how whatsapp works on a phone with no space, back up? do you delete previous messages or does it just not have access to the old messages on whatsapp?? I remember on old phones before iPhones and you would have to delete messages to have space again, just basically wondered if it is the same with whatsapp on this style Nokia? thanks!!!!

I had a Motorola V300 back in 2003 or so. Best phone ever!! I was so cool and everyone wanted to be friends with me and take pics with it since it was one of the first phones with camera where I lived🤣 I still have the phone but can’t turn it on. I’m not sure nor remember why I had switched to another phone. The battery doesn’t look “puffy” so IDK if I should replace it or only buy the charging cable. There is no original anymore as for the battery- do you guys think any alternative will be safe to use? :) I really want to be able to use this phone again!

For banking you can use a computer (thats what i use anyway), same with whatsapp.

Yes it is. If i had a kid. They would be getting a phone like this. I got an att brick phone prepaid go phone at 14 , not a boyfriend, i wasnt "doing it" with boys, i got a phone. It fit in the palm of your hand! And didn't get a smart phone type like galaxy j3 or lg Optimus phone (Virgin Mobile until they were combined with boost) until years later when i could afford to get a phone myself. Absolutely worth it to have as a backup or main phone. Phone I believe was the Motorola C168i

I’m considering getting the wise phone 2 when my phone dies. It has a lot of the basic features like a flashlight and a camera but it doesn’t have internet or social media which I think would help me 😊

That looks like such a great option! Wish it was available in the UK!

I recommend getting a 3310 or 6310 for texting.

I went back to a full dumbphone 3 weeks ago and I love the mental freedom of no emails/apps/notifications - I am missing whatsapp though so maybe this is a better phone for my needs! Whats the sound quality like for music playback?

where can you buy the 2720? I can’t find it anywhere

I am getting a flip phone. I have to use it on another service cause I currently have an iPhone 15 pro max so I don’t have a physical SIM card anymore. If I like it I’ll keep it and find a way to use it until I pay off my smart phone

Why would you remove SIM just to use banking app? Can't you simply use wifi on your smartphone instead?

I had that phone. I loved having a flip phone and i was doing alright bringing my wallet with me and using my ipad at home for bank stuff. Although that model, 2720, is not very good. KaiOS was very new and the phone couldnt handle it. Many people including myself had problems with it restarting on its own and the battery completely draining without using it in just a few hours from a full charge. If they just fixed the battery life, and stability (the restarting out of nowhere) it would be THE perfect phone. Whatsapp worked great, the sound quality in calls was no different from a modern smartphone. I miss it actually and want a new one but havnt decided which model. And i will be reading maaany reviews before🤣

about to downgrade and start my flip phone summer. i've decided to keep whatsapp on my laptop-- you can download the app and then connect it from your smartphone before you downgrade and then it'll work :) so when i'm at home, i'll still have whatsapp. as for gps... my flip doesn't have gps so i'll see how that works. it does have an internet app though so maybe it'll be fine. i'll try planning my journey from home 😭
