Nlight is so fast that you can just dash with it and never get punished, but the problem is when you backdash instead. With every weapon, planning to immediately backdash opens yourself up to getting punished when you dash forward

Well, actually the front dash is pretty quick and fairly safe and you can attack/jump out of it almost immediately, but the back dash is slower than a dead person's heartrate. Only use a back dash when absolutely necessary, that's why incessantly dash dancing is stupid. Milk the front dash dry all you want though. It's just free speed

True, front dashing is amazing when you attack with it. The only problem is when you plan to backdash while you’re front dashing. When you immediately backdash away it gives your opponent something to read, and punish you the moment they react to that front dash

So walking is hard bc you need to be very alert. At your level you probably don’t need to space super carefully like this, just try your best to avoid attacks. Dashing is good here, just don’t dash too much
