In this weeks episode, we'll explore New Bight, Cat Island. From wild goats, to wild chickens. From the smallest monastery I've ever seen, to the largest palm trees I've ever seen. With the endless ruins to explore, there's no doubt in my mind that this is my favorite of all the Bahamian islands I've explored.
The monastery is called the Hermitage. While it's actually not too old, being built in 1939, it was not only made to look ancient, but it was also built at 3/4 scale. Everything about it was mind-blowing.
After the Hermitage, we'll explore the ruins of the 2nd oldest still standing structure in the entirety of the Bahamas - an old plantation that was built in the 1700s, prior to the abolition of slavery.
Cat Island is a MUST SEE is you're ever in the Bahamas.
