Thank you DR RANGAN for this conversation with DR MITHU 👍❤️
@MaggieStewart-k7oАй бұрын
Thank you, this is an absolutely genius conversation. Of course the science is absolutely mind blowing but the way of explaining it would make Duhigg's heart sing (as it does mine). Ps - I would say the quite rude and negative comments below make the point her approach to this work is making. With a set of headphones you can dip in and out of mind gears (in my case simultaneously gaining a gleaming bathroom and a great pile of 'done' ironing for next week's gear 2 working). Thank you again!

I have been through burnt out and swap into a sit back mentality and athletic and health conscious life. I can feel the changes being stress and relief time to time. From what she described here, I tried hard to describe to my colleague for years working as a software developers for decades, telling them the burnt out cannot last them until they retired, especially nowadays less repetitive works but more context switch with problem solving and deep thinking, it can exhaust any human being more than ever. I just don't know how to describe to people if they want to survive till their retirement life.

Top comment. I love the talks that go on on this show and the type of guests he brings, but there needs to be like a 10-20 minute version. No one has time to watch all these, or even one of these. Filming a whole nearly unedited interview is just not very respectful to the viewers and our time. Not every word these people speak is a pearl. Give us the meat of it as a youtube video and the rest as a podcast for those who care to listen.

Maybe a quick remedy to recommend for those who suffer from sugar addiction: Think about the sugar plantations and cane cutters' hard work conditions in producing countries like India, Brazil, Thailand, Dominican Republic... Their work is well physical... but as you mention that most people on the planet are now doing mental work... I believe you are right: it must take a healthy dose of mental strength to work in those conditions. --- Apologies for the apparent anger... It's just tiring at times to listen to scientist speak from their narrow perspective and to know that others tend to just follow 'because it's proven', rather than questioning and keep looking for deeper truths... that actually concern us all.

1. How do you define "quality?" Not measure it, but define it. You keep going around and around this topic, and never seem to address it directly. Why? 2. The scarce resource in all organizations is "decision-making-authority." Iow, AI or technology can give every employee more knowledge & more opportunity to be creative, but if he/she had no authority to act, the entire advancement has been next to worthless, This, too, you fail to address.
@DragaSlovenijaАй бұрын
I have been a social worker for over 30 years- Less room for quality ideas… all about one size fits all, policies to guide all practice and micromanagement….how many patients are we seeing/ what’s your discharge plan/ is your documentation perfect to avoid legal issues. It is as if she wants us to do more works than we already do.....She's like one of those CEOs who are never satisfied with the works staffs do. In the name of 'quality', she is pushing us to do things that most of us are not able to do(the so called very high quality works)...She thinks, people are being paid for doing nothing...What a monster...LOL.....

Unfortunately you are right. Unless there is a paradigm shift in Management the old ways will prevail. And since they need to produce numbers (which again is more about quantity than quality) nothing will change.
