Jason, very kind of you. Thankk you for the kind and sweet response. I bought the stadium seats at K-Mart. They were $39 each. It's called: RIO ADVENTURE Stadium seats. Also referred to as: MY POD STADIUM SEATS. I use a 120amp deep cycle battery 29D from Walmart. It runs incredibly well. The motor I use is a MINN KOTA C2 55 ENGINE. iT RUNS INCREDIBLY FAST and NO SOUND. Please know, "Incredibly fast" is relative. I can just say, I cannot run as fast as the boat goes.

Thanks for the kind responses. FLOOR MEASUREMENT: 96" x 35" However, I cut mine up to: 40" plus 40" plus 16" and kept the width 35". So I can fold it and place it in the trunk of my car. Note: the front of the wood floor has to be sawed off in an angle on each side to fit the boat.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your great video and instructions. Would you elaborate on the making of the wood floors? What exact wood material did you use? How thick is it? How did you connect the 3 pieces? What did you use to carpet it(Glue, staples, etc.) ? Also is the Endura C55 safe for Salt Water? Thank you for your help. Great Mods!

ANSWERING QUESTIONS AND WHAT I'VE LEARNED: 1. I fill up the boat with air first before I put the floor in. 2. I used 1" plywood, now I would use 1/2 inch or even 1/4 inch plywood. HOWEVER, I tested out something cool: I've purchase 1" Styrofoam from Home Depot and glued the outdoor carpeting on it. Much lighter and works great. Dimensions 96" x 35" x 1" and then CUT IT IN HALF!!! (two pieces of 48" x 35") and place outdoor carpeting on it with glue. No hinges on this. You can cut it to size at Home Depot for free by a saw. Closed Cell Foam is better, but can't really purchase it in that size, so I tested Styrofoam and works fine. (can it break? YES, but with the outdoor carpeting around it, it feels sturdy and solid.). It's very light and very easy to transport it. I used LIQUID NAIL to glue the carpet to the Styrofoam. 3. If you use the wood floor you can put hinges on it, but cover them with carpeting so it won't injure your inflatable boat. On wood, you can either staple the outdoor carpeting or glue it with liquid nail. If you use staples, make sure they are all hammered down, so nothing can poke a whole on your inflatable boat. I now like the Styrofoam floor better. 4. Definitely watch my 2 of 2 video, because the STEARING WITH STRINGS is a good solution if you go for longer rides. Your arm won't get tired.

Is the styrofoam sturdy under ur feet when u stand on it? Is the boat sturdy? Great thinking outside the box Andy!!!
@JiggyC9 жыл бұрын
+tjslbfyt98 I bought the styrophone like he said I'm actually trying to do it right bit but I don't know if it's going to be sturdy enough to stand on. I don't want to super glue the outdoor carpeting and just have it break. would waste $28 ( $17 for carpet and $11 for the 1 inch foam)if it were to break first day. OP how's your foam board?
@gavinbenway35945 жыл бұрын
Are you still using Styrofoam? I was going to use the styrofoam and break it in two for convince,but wasn't sure if it would still be sturdy. Thoughts?
@bullyakker3 ай бұрын
@@JiggyC I used 1.5" XPS pink foam board. Cut it to fit and then used 2x3's and a circular saw as a router and guide to hollow 1/4" deep and glued in 1/4" carpeted plywood. Light and stable enough for me 175#. I have had larger friends on the inflatable over 250# and no issues over 3 seasons going out 12-20 times a season.

What no one talks about is the cost of the little things. Wiring alone was almost $40 if you go with the recommended 8 gauge. Then connectors, then the battery boxes, all in all this is a $1000 dollar boat

It must be long cables from motor to battery, are the cables under the floor?
@andthesunsets2 жыл бұрын
I tested those stadium recliner chairs after seeing them on your channels. They are not very durable, the base tail bends when you sit in it for too long so the front frame is warped up and put pressure on the legs. But the models are slightly different so could just be what we have around here is lower quality

Great video Andy! I loved what you did to your boat. I read one of your comments and you mention that for the floor, you had a set where you didn't use the hinges and it was actually easier to transport being 3 separate pieces versus having all 3 folding up in with hinges? Thanks in advance for reply! :D

Did you put hinges on the floor, or is the carpet the hinge? I have all the material and ready to go, but want to be sure. I also have 1 inch PC pipes (4) to go between the ribs, under the floor. Any tips would be appreciated! Also, how stable is it on the water with the floor? Peace.

Nice job on the Excursion, I like the stadium seats, what brand are those? I have the Seahawk 4 with a wood floor and I found its a little slower with the floor in. The battery doesnt seem to last as long either. Power to weight I suppose. Great job on the boat and some good ideas for my mods as well! Thanks for sharing.

Jason Nelms If you use half inch plywood with outdoor carpeting, if anything the boat goes faster. It's light, but it keeps the weight even. I had 5 people on my boat at one point and it still went fast.

Test Model... Holds up Yamaha 8 hp high thrust extra long shaft with 12" Propeller 120 lb with power till like butter. Will put video of the Prototype very soon. It will hold 360 lb of motor and will not sink but 20 hp 4 stroke long shaft should be enough and will weighs only 130 lb. The boat will handle over 1500 lb and can sit 6 to 10 persons. 3 front, 2 middle, 2 rear and 2 on side of tubes. The wood will be painted Armor gray Concrete paint. The prototype might have a trailer, a built in bottom frame with fold down tow tongue (2 wheels rear & 1 front) and 80cc 2 stroke motor to drive in on land) or just as simple as inflatable boat, a 5 minutes take apart and put in my SUV. Can be seen on Lake Mead, NV on 4 of July weekend and after...
