Good afternoon, is that beautiful or what. There are not words to describe those coachbuilders level of expertise. Never ceases to amaze me that this form of automotive art work is being lost. These people were genuine craftsmen. Thanks for a really great video. Take care.

If believe coachbuilds still excists. RUF, Touring, Pininfarina, Moal and Singer among many others still offer that service.
@BurtSampson3 жыл бұрын
@@anderslaugeprip3733 True. I actually thought about SInger and Zagato while typing that. Even something like West Coast Customs to an extent(that Rolls Royce they built for Justin Bieber is pretty crazy.)

I don't know if custom coachbuilding is even still possible with today's unit-construction cars, as opposed to cars of the past that had separate bodies and frames.
@BurtSampson2 ай бұрын
@@scotpens we do kind of still have it with companies like zagato, but yea, unibody construction surely complicates matters.

Not sure what this piece is trying to accomplish but it was a real missed opportunity to show us around the interior as well. Even if you go to the museum you cannot get close enough to look inside. Also would have been a lot more interesting compared to the standard bodied Cadillac for perspective.

Isn’t it a pity that Detroit, didn’t avail themselves of a bit more European finesse in the design of their cars, we might have avoided some of that brash brutalism and excessiveness that permeated the American auto industry.
