1 Overview - DW Soundworks Tutorial

I looked for the mixer video which never surfaced for some reason? I would like more information about the routings function which was glossed over and never fully explained anywhere. My area of interest is if the different channels/kit elements of Soundworks can easily be split into DAW channels for independent processing and mixing. I cannot find this information on any video, the webpage for the product, or the manual itself. Does this capability exist, and if not, when will it be implemented? Without this feature, this product will be a non-starter for me and for many producers that need it. Thank you.

I am an original PD user. I didn't even wait for the 50% off code and in hopes of getting the full update (the original PD is really great), I bought it at full price. But unfortunately my first feelings are disappointing. I haven't even had much of a chance to test it as a whole, as it keeps crashing on my $5000 professional workstation. I have tried it in several DAWs and standalone applications. Unusable at the moment.

That is massively disappointing to hear! I got my code but have been very hesitant to get it. They've burned such a big bridge for me that I have 0 trust

Yeah, this definitely has potential, but needs some ironing out on the bugs that the V1 of this has.

dw was not even ready for the product release but they said "fck it" and released without testing the product and giving licenses to influencers for reviews. the original PD did very good at its launch on the other hand by uploading several videos with ACTUAL AUDIO and PRACTICAL TUTORIALS imo

@@DycayBeatsI agree that there should be demos so any newcomers that are curious can listen to see whether or not it's worth the money. As for me, I got the 50% discount code and shelved out $99, and even though it's pretty good, the bug regarding several unexpected crashes should be ironed out for the next update. I'm still quite curious as to how the PD Legacy library will be ported over to this new engine.

Looks and sounds good. but can I use it out of the box with my Roland TD50k2 kit and its TD50x module? I.e. Does it have any midi mapping presets for drum modules like Superior Drummer 3 does?

Nowhere I found the information or a list which exact cymbals are included in the sound packs. I wish to know the brands and the model names and all sizes of the sampled cymbals.

I like how when you click the 'Drums' tab, the actual shell packs come up. When I do it, there are no drums available, despite downloading the entire software/expansion pack. Wish mine worked like yours. In fact, I wish mine worked at all.

How do reset everything to defaults. Having a triggering issue: Tom 1 & 3 are triggering the snare and are also clipping off the resonance of the Tom 1 & 3. Tom 2 is fine and resonates when you strike it.

How many GB is that libary? I heard it crashes in v1? In what daws?

Most of the libraries are about 6-7 GB while one of the libraries is 15 GB. As for the crashes, I’ve faced this experience in both FL Studio and stand-alone version after trying to multi output the drums.

DWe and Roland need to put together a step by step software installation guide for Windows 11. I’ve had my new DWe kit for a week and cannot download the software. Even DW’s IT are scratching their heads. Imagine having a brand new car in your driveway, but have no keys. I know it’s new, but come on!

To my understanding DW Soundworks is not (and it could never be,imho) PD2. Naughty Seal collaborated with DW and basically this is a joint product. It is not directly coming from Naughty Seal that's why it is not advertised as 'Perfect Drums 2'. Legacy libraries from PD will be imported in Soundworks though, so we gonna have the 'old' sounds. Personally, I am not comfortable paying for this yet. I don't feel that this is Naughty Seal and I am kinda sad for that reason. Also I don't like the fact that DW doesn't mention anywhere that Naughty Seal was involved and this is a bit weird. It's like DW bought NS under the table. I hope this is not the case...

I feel like this is the case indeed, no mention of Naughy Seal/PD, at this point I'm not even sure legacy PD will be included. Feels like we've been tricked

I hope we get PD2 because honestly the DW kits were the least enticing in the Perfect Drums Library. When I heard DW was going to be the focus of PD2 I was already super disappointed just at the announcement. Then when it was rolled out their are overpriced expansions a lackluster library of stock samples and all the bugs. They lost a customer because I would never buy this crap. To top it all off it sounds like shit. Room sound has better libraries for half this price

@@mekanikaltitan I think Naughty Seal is done for. DW bought them and that's that. If Naughty Seal's next big thing was DW Soundworks, it speaks for itself unfortunately. To this day I am using PD for my music, so I can only hope for the best and for a strong comeback from NS with a new original product.
