Sounds really great! Was waiting for you playing this VST, so thanks. I understand everything is subjective and there’s no “best”, but I’d love to know your opinion of what’s YOUR favorite VST? No need to explain why…I own a few VSTs, but I’ve spent FAR too much time already watching countless videos. Value your opinion. Thanks for all you do to elevate the drumming community!

Niiice! Have you got to try the Alesis Strata Prime yet? Looking at VAD507 vs Strata Prime and not sure what to go for, may as well ask the edrum/drum guru himself!

😜haha, just waiting for a schedule from Alesis actually & hope to have it around for some shooting some time soon!

@@digitaldrumming if you had 4500 to spend on an ekit, which one would you get?

Hi, really interested in this but will it work with a roland vad503/vh 14d - and roland tm27 module? As it doesnt say on the site. Superior Drummer, Slate and others are a pain to setup and never worked well with mine but this doesn't have a demo I can try
@onomatopoeidia29 күн бұрын
@@smithwoodward absolutely, full midi compatible and you can even make your own sound libraries in it with 18 layers x 8 nuances x 5 mics . It used to be called Perfect Drums so very well established.

Sounds awesome Ralf. Do you tweak the mix in the software or is this basically plug and play ?
@digitaldrumming7 ай бұрын
I’ve just applied a little additional mixing to the intro music jam, all solo drum presets thereafter are 100% „out of the box“. There are different internal mix presets available for each kit (natural, studio, metal etc), and you can actually tweak quite nicely using onboard eq/comp & adjusting bleed on OHs & stereo room. Kind regards!

How difficult was it to get setup and dial in the triggering? Which module did you use for this video? Thanks!

Hey Rocky, I used a Td-50x, but any Roland would work equally well as there is a v-drums midi mapping preset included. I just had to remap some cymbals, but also remapping works pretty straight forward. So all in all midi setup was plug & play for me mostly. Kind regards!

@@digitaldrumming I would disagree that any roland would work, I have a td 17, sure the mapping is ok but I've spent way too much time with the hi hat, the dwe control app only works with dw wireless and does not detect wired drums. So, no way to calibrate it within the software. After way too many attempts and several emails with DW I gave up. For me its useless. Often get open hi hat sounds after I've closed it. Tried every mapping in the software to no avail. Yes my hi hat is calibrated in the module and works flawlessly with onboard sounds as well as ezdrummer and SD 3. never had an issue until this software. I've simply concluded until they give me some means to calibrate the module and software together It is unusable.

@@johnfry2230 sorry to hear that, but generally speaking td-50 is not doing anything dramatically different from td-17 in terms of 0-127 hihat opening midi cc. Are you using the Roland v-drums mapping preset which is actually located outside the software in a kind of separated app that you’re also running? Forgot the name sorry, have to look it up. Kind regards!
@johnfry22306 ай бұрын
@@digitaldrumming the mappings presets are within soundworks, the other app you are referring to is the Dwe control… I think. It does not detect or function at all. To my knowledge it only works with the wireless dw drums. May work with the 50 but certainly doesn’t with the 17. That said I’ve check every trigger note and they are correct and trigger as they should. But as I said randomly the hi hat open sound still triggers after closing. Within the Dwe control app there is the ability to calibrate but again, it only function with the wireless drums. Any suggestions would be appreciated but I can assure you I’ve tried everything I know and spent about a month back and forth with dw to no avail. I concluded until they provide something that allows calibration within the software it isn’t fixable. Something similar to what sd3 has in theirs. Although I’ve never had to use it in sd. Thanks

You don’t need DWe control. Make sure your HH is calibrated with the TD-17 (if a VH10 or VH11) then choose TD-17 as the audio and midi devices in SoundWorks. To do this switch the TD17 to vendor USB mode so it works as a midi and audio interface. You can adjust the hh closed and open sensitivity in SoundWorks under the HH advanced midi settings. I use it everyday with all V-Drums modules.
