I feel like most of the world will adapt to his primary attack (left collar snap-pick-single) by the time next years Senior Worlds roll around. However, I believe his speed, positioning, par terre, and dexterity will lead to another world title.

Idk. They said the same about JB (and the rest of the greats). Because Ono can threaten both sides equally then his game can remain the same for the majority of his career.

I don’t think so… I think his primary competition learns to defend it but I don’t think he re-writes wrestling

Incredible work, the fact that you can remember how many snaps , gut ranges he did shows the incredible research made.

42 years living in Japan here, and Masanoksuke is based at Yamanashi Gakuin, about a 90 minute drive west of my apartment. What was extra amazing was that cut through the field so seemingly easily while only month into recovering from a broken leg. Riddle ... what does a non-Japanese say when they draw him in the first bracket of a tournament? ... "Oh no! Masanosuke!" 😂

He is already so strong at 20 years old and his athletcism and technique is already out of this world. Imagine in 4 years when he gets more of a man's strength.

How does he snap like that? In a way that the opponent would go down?

I feel like I already kinda get any of the idea of his collar tie. Snap and shoots single on collar tie side very effective but it will be caught on even with the over tie

Do you think Ono can beat Kiyooka for the 65kg Japan national team spot?

I’m pretty sure he lost to him a Ready there was a wrestle off between the 2 on KZbin I believe with him losing by tech I’m not sure because I don’t know Japanese so I could be yapping 😂. Both are very good though so I think that tech was a one off incident being that leg lace can kinda make matches one sided.
Will he stay at 61kg or move the an Olympic weight ?

Interestingly I might be on some rocks here, but his style is similar to Satiev in away but his head not as deep. Avoiding like direct shots like double legs and primarily cutting corners and doing moves like ankle picks what not. I feel like his main weakness would be against someone who is ridiculously good at taking shots or better at scrambling than him, it's just a matter of time and soon we will find out.....👀

Ehhh that’s a stretch. Saitiev basically stood upright and did a ton of judo.
@nopmonhatman401218 күн бұрын
@@VincentBones44 Satiev isn't exactly judo but his move sets mainly involved attacking the legs similar to judo. But interestingly enough I don't think he is exactly learning from Saitiev, because in recent interviews Ono said how he learned a lot of wrestling from looking up videos online on KZbin and biggest inspirations included the ankle pick from Cael Sanderson and American wrestlers. So I guess the reason why everything he does looks so familiar is because he LITERALLY doing everything he sees as fit from online with further guidance from his coach. Also this isn't the first time Japanese wrestlers done stuff like this, Cejudo's Japanese opponent back in Beijing was literally looking up clips of his moves before his gold medal match and Cejudo's coach saw what they were doing and decided to change their own plans last minute. The Japanese are known for pretty much stealing stuff from other countries and studying their opponents thoroughly before wrestling with them.

I wonder how much the injury had to do with this.

@@nopmonhatman4012 I was referring to the point about him avoiding straight shots. Like if he wasn’t injured, I wonder if that would be different.
