These throws are good. Gotta be brave to do in a match. I never thought of these throws in 70 80 90’s And I’d be too chicken to try them, if I’d seen these throws (never saw them) But I did a similar, lead up throw that was less risky. If opponent hit a knee on his shot, I’d start an arm drag, while they were still on one or both knees. If opponent was trying to stop my arm drag by turning more to prevent my go behind, and opponent was stopping my arm drag with their under hook-I would do a lateral whip. Their under hook meant I already had an over hook or whizzer. I did a straight arm lateral whip powered by a turn of my hips. This would often topple them over to their back. Very similar to throws you show here, just light years behind in skill level and efficiency. Thanks Earn Your Gold Medal I wonder if these throws are being done in freestyle international competition. And if not, why not?

do you have any clips of this tactic failing, has anyone developed a successful counter tactic?

Recently had a ref at a high school tournament tell me this only applies to college. Does anyone else know if that is correct or if the ref was just ill-informed?

Been watching your videos for years. I'm an assistant wrestling coach for high school in Idaho. My son know wrestles in college. We both use your videos pretty often to improve our game and gain insight to this complex game of grappling. Thank you.

You should do a video on hand fighting, and neutralizing opponents hand fighting, Marcus Blaze does a very good job of this and that's why I think he's so good, he doesn't have a slide by like Jax Forrest but he's better then him from his hand fighting, you should do film on him and then NCAA athletes or something

If you do a video on hand fighting, maybe include Sidakov. Sidakov gets into underhook, and then when opponent forces underhook away-bam he hits Sidakov Slide By. Also show Iranian wrestler who forces underhook and follows with a forced step out for one point--or Iranian Lat Drop You’ve probably shown both of these wrestlers doing their favorite moves. Thanks Earn Your Gold Medal

In creating a system, is the Russian Tie a good tie up to focus on? Or would Underhooks, Inside Ties, Outside Ties be better.

I've never wrestled but I like watching these film studies. I've picked up on some of the terms but there's a lot that I don't know what it means. Is there like a wrestling dictionary of sorts? If there isn't you might consider using AI to populate one and then edit it. You could put it up on your website. You could link to a playlist of short videos for each term and maybe drive a lot of traffic back and forth from your KZbin to your site as well.

Strongly agree with this and have seen the same concept work in many sports. ‘Pick one thing. Get so good at it that your opponents have to get unsound to stop you. Then attack how they get unsound.’

Wade schalles does this thing where he bundles the fingers up with his secondary hand if the opponent has their hand on their belly. It works rly well so hopefully that helps.
