Only 10 minutes in and I have learned so much already. Moving the formation slightly so that the opponents weaker defending would have more time on the ball which makes them less of a attacking threat, blew my mind. Need to get my notepad out for this video 😆

This philosophy more aptly replicates true football management as opposed to lazy ‘plug & play’ copy tactics. Real managers tweak their formation/ selections/ tactics depending on their opponents. 👍🏼 I love your explanations/ ideas. I tend to utilise very few team instructions. 😡 I hate ‘meta’ tactics. I select player instructions to accentuate an individual’s: Dribbling Tacking Passing Crossing For each match, I try to identify weaknesses and swap around a few positions, roles or instructions - but you have provided me with many, many more parameters to try. I’m going to watch the rest of your content in the hope I learn even more!!

Wow! I have been on the hunt for a video like this for over a week and Thank the God's this one came up on my suggested feed this morning. There are a few about on how to use opposition instructions but your video takes the detail of tactical match up to the next level. Very informative, good work! I have a lot of fun studying various tactical styles and trying to emulate them successfully in football manager. There is plenty of content out there sharing fm tactics and insight into how they work but information on how to use them and adapt on a game to game basis is very scarce. Of course you can download a tactic and win 5-0, but this would likely be because your team UNINTENTIONALLY matched up favorably to the opposition. The skill is in understanding why and this video goes a long way in explaining this. I like the tactical board you use and might have to give that a go! This is however very focused on adaptation. Do you ever hold on to any core ideas on the style or philosophy that you want your team to play and then the adaptations are within this or is this idea of match to match adaptation at the expense of your own identity in style. I guess one might argue the flexibility of your team with the players picked especially for this IS your identity! I guess this is for each player to decide and find a balance. For instance, I am currently enjoying a focus on a high possession based style. Am thinking that focusing on tactical match up could lead to a move away from some of the possession orientated roles and instructions, but on the flip side stopping the oppositions dangerous players on the ball could lead to having more possession anyway. Sorry I've said a lot but this video has really engaged my thinking!

I’m usually a plug and play tactic kinda guy, but this really motivates me to change philosophy - incredible series of vids so far! Thanks so much for sharing your insights. Against 433, that you mentioned towards the end, what role and instructions specifically do you put on your AML/AMR to sit narrow out of possession and crowd central area?
@FletchTheSauce4 ай бұрын
@@MJhendo0103 thank you so much. I like inverted wingers over inside forward. I like sit narrower and roam from position in general. Wonderfully informative. One question - what do you do on away games, how do you alternate your tactic? I've always struggled with these - whether that's a stronger team away from home and I cant really hit them on the break because my team's transitions are bad, OR if it's a weaker team that just seems to be impossible to break down for some reason

Very interesting content. One question, did you ever tried to use individual marking on players instead of changing formations game to game? Example: the first situation you talked about, the oponent LWB was weak so you put your Winger on the right side as a shadow striker. If you keep the winger on the right but put him pressing the DM left would not have the same result?
@FletchTheSauce4 ай бұрын

I suggest to add minutes played and match load columns in the tactics screen so you can monitor easily the situation and rotate accordingly.
