I've read some articoles that discuss how in Japan many elderly people tend to keep working, especially in the food / restaurant industry. It's really fascinating, Japan is definitely on another level, and I have really deep respect for these people. They show that no matter the age, you can keep doing what you love🥹🥺

While those immersed in materialism may fail to perceive it, Japan's worn buildings still convey an unmistakable sense of cleanliness and refined elegance. Their spirit is truly distinct. It is hard not to agree that they stand at the pinnacle of civilization. They are a nation and people that are impossible not to admire and cherish.

You are definitely a Japanese lover. I wonder if you live here in Japan. 😂 In Japan most of this kids after they end school will be part of the system and the Japanese system will destroy them mentally, then most of these girl if they don’t become idol, they will become bar girls and simple salaryman or working in beauty salon. Sadly, but that’s the reality of the Japanese society. But the video is interesting.

This is a fantastic double vignette juxtaposing the old age canteen worker(s) and the tennis girl full of youth. It makes for an interesting contrast in their routines and the way they find meaning in their lives, and they are ultimately brought together by the joy of preparing, eating and sharing food. It has really moved me.

22:52 In Japan, people usually say “Itadakimasu” before eating as a greeting. However, in this case, some people play with words and say “Itadakimarimokkori” because it sounds similar to “Itadakimasu” and has a catchy rhythm. “Itadakimarimokkori” itself has no particular meaning; it’s just a playful phrase that has been around for a long time. A forced translation of “Itadakimarimokkori” into English would be “Digging in” because of its similar rhythm and playful nature.

Such a perfect society....the US could never become like this
@SvalbardSleeperDistrict5 күн бұрын
There is no perfect society, and Japan with its incredibly toxic work culture, overtime and overwork, social isolation, overly rigid social hierarchy, sexism and misogyny and lots of other things is far from anywhere near being perfect. There are things there that are healthier than in places like the US, there are things there that are much more unhealthy than in other places. Let's not fall into uninformed hyperbolising and extremes.
21:31 - right before coming to lunch, Hoss chugged 3 Asahi beers behind the gymnasium, and then crushed the cans on his forehead. After lunch he'll spend 30 minutes in the toilet, then go out to the baseball diamond for batting practice and knock 11 balls over the fence.

It is incredible to see the ethnic homogeneity of these schools. I speak for Italy, but it is valid for all of Europe, where it has become a problem for teachers to carry out school programs at home for many children who do not understand the Italian language. I will then leave aside the problems of discipline and respect for teachers.
