Hey man sorry if I missed it in the video but what did you use to lift the front? I got a TB too and I absolutely love it. Just rebuilt all the suspension components on my front end rides and drives like a brand new one but I want to lift it.
@RydogsGarage4 жыл бұрын
i had the 2” front lift. rough country i think. and just had the 1” rear spring spacers. gave it way better stance
@Clare.19854 жыл бұрын
@@RydogsGarage thanks a million for the quick response! Did you have to flip your front control arms around or did it all mate back up?
@RydogsGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@Clare.1985 i did flip mine. and glad i did. and now more i think about it. idk what look your going for. but if i where you. for the price it cost i would just get the 3” front and 2” rear lift kit. by motofab. and flip the front arms and put a longer nicer shock on the rear. and be done with it. should be able to fit 3” tires on that set up and run a 1.5” wheel spacer on stock wheels 🤘🏻

Did you spray paint your rims black? If do what was the process, or did you find chevy rims blacked out which they seem to be? Thx
@RydogsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Joe Sweat They are plasti-dipped black!, took all 4 off and put them on cardboard and used index cards around the rim (they stick in between the rim and tire) cleaned them up really good make sure there is no grease and just did as many coats as i could with the 4 cans i had, basicly 1 can per rim. it's held up almost a year with even washing them with a power washer to get dirt off

I have a 08 trailblazer with stock 17 inch rims. About to get some 265/70/17's tires. Would a 2” lift be enough to ensure no rubbing. Would I need spacers? Not off roading just want the look of a bigger truck.
@RydogsGarage5 жыл бұрын
avonbarksdale91 yep! 2” front lift and 1” back will be just perfect. and yes i would recommend 1.5” hubcentric wheel spacers, Bora is the company. going to need them so the tires won’t rub the front upper ball joint.
@avonbarksdale915 жыл бұрын
Rydog's Garage what about 1.5 in the back. That’s all they have on rough country... they do sell 1inch lifts on eBay tho.

lr45gaming my front 2" spacers are from rough country, I got it on eBay, and the rear spacers are 1" eBay coils spacers, and my wheel spacers are 1.25" eBay wheel spacers lol, I don't remember the seller, if you have more money buy BORA wheel spacers way better quality and they are hub centric

lr45gaming your welcome! if your trailbalazer is 4x4 I wouldn't recommend going bigger than 2" front and 1" rear, mines only 2wd, but if I had 4x4 I would have but a 3" on the front and converted the rear to the Tahoe sprigs and shocks plus a 1" spacer, which gives you about 2 1/4 lift in the rear, so you can fit some 32/33" with cutting the fenders, and wheel spacers. Max I can go is 30"
@RydogsGarage8 жыл бұрын
lr45gaming I also highly recommended a adjustable panhard bar/track bar, so you can center your rear axle, that's super important, and doing the front upper control arm flip mod is also important with a lift too so that the upper ball joint is not maxed out on angle
If I add a 3in rear will have to to change my rear suspension? Or should stock be fine?
@RydogsGarage4 жыл бұрын
3” rear spacers you will need a aftermarket rear track bar/panhardbar. becuase the stock one will be the incorrect length and the axle will not be center under the truck. it will screw up your thrust angle for alignment and the rear suspension will bind the arms will be on wrong angles
@RydogsGarage4 жыл бұрын
the pan hard bar has to be longer in order to recenter axle at 3” lift

Iight I have the same truck but I want to keep the same factory height add 2” spacers and gets 20” or 18” ss replicas or oem rims you think it’ll rub?? Or add too much stress on the barrings?
@RydogsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Kidd Ramms don't do wheel spacers with a rim that large. get the ss replica wheels and they will be the proper offset to sit flush with the fender. and with a 20" wheel you will have to run like 245/40/20. or close to that. any tire larger than 31" tottal diameter is going to rub.

Quick question if I wanted wider tires and do a semi Carolina squat on the truck how would you go about it.... I️ was thinking 3” in the front and 1” in the back with wider tires and maybe spacers to get clearance
@RydogsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Kidd Ramms yeah they sit 1" higher in the back from factory. 3" front lift. 1" rear lift will give you that cali lean look. a high offset wheel with like a 10.5" or 12.5" tire. would be sweet. like a 20" moto or fuel wheel. with a 32" tall 10.5" wide nitto 420 tire.

Rydog's Garage does that affect the angles of driveshafts and wear?
@RydogsGarage6 жыл бұрын
RC Films no not at all. 1” won’t do anything. if you go 2”+ rear you may want a longer shock and a adjustable panhard bar but 1” is fine. i’ve had theses in 40,000 plus miles no issues
@RC_Films_6 жыл бұрын
Rydog's Garage how about 2 inch front?
@RydogsGarage6 жыл бұрын
RC Films 2” does nothing other than you need an alignment. if you go 3” you need to flip your upper control arms. 180 degrees. put the passenger on the driver side. and driver on passenger side. to help the upper ball joint angle. other wise it’s all good.any more than 3” and it starts to be to much angle of the front cv shafts if you have 4x4. if you have 2wd dosent matter. sky is the limit. becuase of our dual control arm coil over set up. in front.

Greg Buckley i made my own. i cut the stock muffler out under the truck, and put in a cherry bomb vortex muffler. in place of it and used a stock size 2.75" pipe to full in the space cause the vortex is like half the size of the stock one. and then i cut the resonator can thing off under the rear bumper and replaced that with a 2.75" pipe and a tip

Geaux L'A just the suspension, 2" in the front from roughy country and the 1" rear coil spacer

Rydog's Garage ohh cool.. which way you think would sit higher that way & adding 32in tires ? or would it be higher with a 3in body lift & 32in tires ?
@RydogsGarage8 жыл бұрын
in my opinion i would do the suspension first. it will have more articulation that way and the suspension will perform way better offroad and function like it should. rather than stock suspension struggling and you lifting the body to make the tires fit.
@Intywetruss8 жыл бұрын
Rydog's Garage thanks , the shop I'm looking at now tho only have the the 2 lifts in the front & 1 in the back cause they say the back is already a little bit taller 🤔 .. but I guess that would help me sit somewhat higher..
@RydogsGarage8 жыл бұрын
your welcome!the truck does technically sit 1" taller in the rear from the factory, but i can almost guarantee a 2" front and 1" rear is not enough to fit 32"s you need to do the 3" front lift and upper control arm mod, and put 09 tahoe springs and shocks in the back to get almost a 2" rear lift, sometimes they put a 3/4 spacer with the springs. i can link the forums for these installs if necessary. also by putting tahoe rear springs the truck will be able to haul more weight and not squat down because the springs are thicker. i didnt need the height but i almost did the tahoe springs because i tow alot and thats a nice thing.
