Good explanation and knowledge. But FYI nowadays no one is using angles as purlins, as they are heavy, expensive and old design. Now sq. & Rectangle pipe sections are being used for trusses to reduce weight on structure. It would be helpful if you make a video with that. Also kindly make a video for peb structures.

How about cold form Z and C Purlins which are lighter but can span up to 6.5m... For the Truss do we still use angles or pipes??

Are the connecting plates designed with lifting in mind? I have seen trusses lifted by the peak only and with others two points.

at 5:00, shouldn't the Self weight of roofing sheet multiply with the area instead of just the spacing of purlins, which is the slope area. then divide the load in two since half would act on one side and the other half on the other side. So i don't understand why only the spacing was multiplied with. Can someone explain or is there some mistake.

Madam,... When you picked up the value for 'k2', you classified the building under class B; that means the largest one amongst its 'length, breadth and height' should be something between 20m & 50m, and then you assigned k2 =0.88, then it's evident that the h=10. On the contrary, it was taken h/w=1, while you derived the value for Cpe using table 5.... I'm afraid, you assumed w>20 in the first case, and in the second w=10.....

24 " OC is by far the most common spacing. Try finding 23 or 24" wide roll insulation. Its like they go out of their way to NEVER have it in stock. I'm talking YEARS not months. I never have understood that and never will. It must be rocket science to manufacture it at that width.

hey! if u resolve the loads in x and y direction, you can find that the relationship between the angle of inclination is inversely proportional to vertical force!

can you verify or check my steel trusses assuming actual dead and live loads, total span of bottom chord is 12.07M, total rafter or top chord is 6.1532M x2, vertical member spacing is 1M, king post length or rise is 1.2M, please correct dimensions and distances also and check if this truss is capable of carrying loads. thanks
