I’m having a hard time because it seems like more and more companies are moving away from patterns that mix and match well and going with repetitive patterns in different colors, which can’t really be layered. I know most people don’t use patterned paper much anymore, so that’s probably why, but I love it, and struggle to create cards without it.

These cards are so sweet Christy. As you probably know I love using pattern papers and love that you do to. I wish more card makers would use them. KZbin channel “Crafty Paws” Kristina uses blue undertones for black hair too, she does a lovely job.

Yeah...I horde pattern paper. I love it!! Now using it...yeah...no! It would look like my card threw up a bunch of colors and patterns. I see how you put these patterns together and wonder "why can't I do that without making it look like Picaso put it together!?" Beautiful cards. Thank you for sharing. I’m glad you would! Lol! I would too! But one time someone complained about having to watch 8 minutes of coloring and it made me self-conscious. I always want to deliver the maximum amount of instruction in the shortest time possible, but some things just take longer to achieve! So I’m happy to know that some people like you aren’t bothered by it.😊

Really great cards Christie. Thanks for the tips on choosing a patterned paper pad .. I think I often buy pads that are variations of the same thing so I don't get enough difference in the patterns. Loved those fairies and how you coloured them. I do a lot of colouring for Kathy Rac's challenge but it seems like you are more thoughtful than me - like you had an idea of which paper you were going to use before you coloured . I often end up with a lot of randomly coloured images that I can't really use together!

Yes, that can be tricky to layer when the patterns are too similar or all on a similar scale. I'm glad that tip helped! And yes, I always think ahead to the patterned paper before I choose my colors, otherwise I'd end up with a bunch of images I wouldn't know how to use.
