I'm an alcohol marker newbie...another artist I've watched colors lightest to medium to darkest and then in reverse (dark, medium to light). I notice you start dark, medium, light & then back. What is the benefit of your method of the other? I'm just trying to get a little better understanding of how the markers blend. Your coloring is beautiful & this was an incredibly helpful video in understanding how the markers work together and how to blend. I would love to know how you did the sky behind the girl...that's awesome!!!! Thank you!!!
@christygetscrafty4 жыл бұрын
Both ways are very common and just a matter of personal preference!🙂 Do what feels comfortable to you. If you start with your light, you can build up to the dark and then blend back down. I’m pretty confident with how much dark to lay down, so I just go for it, unless I’m coloring hair, as I did in this video. I hope that helps!

@@christygetscrafty Thanks for the feedback. I just got the Arteza Everblend set of alcohol markers. They're much less expensive than Copic, but I thought as a beginner, it'd be a good place to start to see if it's something I like doing. It looks so fun...I just hope I can make it not look like a 3 year old did it. LOL!

Hi Christy, I’m stumped about finding the Copic color chart. Can you please direct me to where I can find it? I have the hex chart that Sandy Allnock did but I think the Copic chart would help me also. Thank you in advance for your help.I especially appreciated you letting me know which colors to start with. I wish someone would tell me which colors are colors that are less necessary (Or that are so similar there wouldn’t be a need to purchase both) I hope that makes sense. Thanks again!

Can you give some details on how you did the background?? I watched the video solely to learn how you did it.

I shared it in another video called “Rainy Day Background Card” using another image from the same stamp set. Enjoy!😊

I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos, Maddi! I can’t really offer advice on the Copic sets because I’ve never purchased any of them. I have always bought my markers one at a time. I like to pick and choose just the colors I want or need. I wish you all the best! Happy crafting!😊

You mentioned inks, what about Versafine Onyx Black - is that compatible with alcohol inks? I just love this ink.

Versafine Onyx Black is an awesome ink that I use all the time for crisp, black sentiments or for water coloring. But it is not compatible with alcohol markers. It will smear. You need to use a dye ink with alcohol markers and Versafine Onyx Black is a pigment ink.
