I have followed all of Steve's "Fret Board Mastery" videos, which by themselves are awesome. He definitely covered "meandering," which is an awesome way to learn the fret board. This video though, adds just a little more point of view regarding meandering which is amazingly helpful. Thanks Steve for everything. I've learned more than I thought was possible through your videos.

Mr. Stine thanks so much for this video. I've been all over KZbin looking for a video that would help me with this exact issue. Not so much the jamtrack but the connecting of positions. Helped me so much!

This was a great exercise. It never really occurred to me that I could learn to meander with just a droning track. Here I was trying to put together drums and full accompaniment on Logic Pro and all I needed was a drone...in any key. Worked well, though!

Hi Steve, thank you for the great trick. But could you also please tell the settings of your amp/effects pedal you have in this video?
@Guitarzoom
@Guitarzoom 5 жыл бұрын
I use various amps and vst plugins, and honestly can't remember what I used for this, but it was probably Guitar Rig VST, with a little delay and reverb (which is all I use, other than distortion when needed, of course).

I noticed something when you were talking about the pentatonic positions, doesn't all 5 of them form the CAGED system?
@tom434911
@tom434911 7 жыл бұрын
Dabbler's Buffet They don't form the CAGED system, they are part of it, and can be used with other elements of it. 👍

Sorry I'm late to the party here. Hopefully these will help. One thing they don't tell you when you get those easy beginners books and you learn 'Mary has a little lamb' is that the open chords are all movable and this is the basis of 'CAGED' kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5bHZZJrjNNnjtE kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ_Kd4lqj9yUhqM kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpnVeJiloa6nrNk

I'm lost when you start talking about positions, I'm new to guitar, I know some chords and some of the fundamentals, but I'm lost when you say positions. Maybe theirs something that can help me with that on guitar zoom.
@Guitarzoom
@Guitarzoom 7 жыл бұрын
Positions are different places to play scales, and just like barre chords, if you memorize a few basic ones and have some understanding of notes on the fretboard (mainly the 6th and 5th strings) then you can move them around in any key quite easily. While there can be many positions depending on which scales you are playing, “root position” is the standard. This is where the root of the scale is the lowest note. For more check out more of our videos on scales and how to use them!
