I tried this earlier but got some minor achilles tendonosis lmfao. Guys before you do this, be sure to have decently strong calves (as in you can rep 1 legged calf raises easily). Then you’ll see the benefits here. My calf genetics are ass, when I started track I would heelstrike even while sprinting with spikes lmfao. After getting them strong I could run decent times (51.9 400m, low 2 800m)

Make sure to train your shins and calf mobility on top of this and you might not get the tendon pain

Yea, that just means they have talent and are putting in the work, but probably at a different sport that requires running or they put on work for fitness, but it does suck

Keep grinding and focus on your own improvement. Quick story. When I first started deadlifting I was doing like 115 and focusing on technique etc. One of my friends never trained weights, only calisthenics, and deadlifted 500+ on his first day trying them. He didn't even know what the exercise was called.

Does improving ankle stiffness help improving elasticity and bounce of each contact ? Or plyometric is need for bounce?

@@TheSprintProject_ i get curious that for top speed, is vertical force or tendon stiffness is more important, or you just need both ? Since you need a lot of vertical power relative to your bodyweight ,that means leg power is important, but you need to put that force into the ground in very short amount of time and use that power to bounce back at the same time , it shows your ankle stiffness is important . Also , when you have bounce , it spring you forward , you have more power too

I think form/foot placement would be good but my stride is really short though

strength comes into play for both. Frequency is mainly dependent on your ankle stiffness + hip flexor fast twitch strength, you might wanna focus on that

yes. By squatting slow eccentrically, or by using the leg extension machine eccentrically. 👍

I'm a natural toe walker. (Yay for autism) I finish almost last in every race tho so i doubt it will make any speed difference. 😂
