Sadly "Sabados Gigantes" ended a couples of months ago, (Sept 19th) after 53 years of continued broadcast, from 1962 to 1986 in chile (Canal 13) and from then in US through Univision. Don Francisco ( Mario Kreutsberger) is Chilean too and came to chile to report when the incident with the miners. About the Spanish/English language, yeah, wierd, because Chilean Spanish is very different from other accents like Argentinians or Mexicans accent, but the choise was obvious to reach a broader audience, specially in the US. For Spanish speaking countries there was a Spanish spoke version. ------ i would like to see some ofyour wood proucts here in chile, i mean i can find them, yeah, but pretty expensive, for wood glue we usually use mostly "Cola Fria" which is a standard name for a white wood glue, that works, but take about an hour to sit. so yeah would be nice to find a faster setting alternative. ----- Btw Greetings from Chile!!!!!

heh... "house full of problems".....I worked on my roof last week.....was originally going to be a 2, maybe 3 day project....figured, flat roof, shouldn't be too hard to strip down and redo......was that ever the understatement!....layer of shingles, tarpaper, then poured tar...on TOP of plywood...MORE tar, on top of tin, ontop of more plywood!!! Needless to say, the plywood bounded top and bottom by tar was completely saturated and literally fell apart in trying to take it up...it was easier to SHOVEL it off than to pry it up with a prybar..... The job turned into 6 days.....and it's still just a temporary fix to get me through winter......the whole thing needs to be worked so it has a proper slope and proper roofing solution installed to be permanent.... But that is a job for a professional, YOUNGER, man to tackle next summer.... :P Seems like EVERY renovation i've tried on this house, explodes into 3 times what I estimated it should have been.... :P

Hey Steve! How about you do a woodworking detour soon, and go along the dark and forgotten trails of pre-WWMM projects? Ya know, stuff like the chess board, or anything else that could have rottenstone applied and taken to new heights. Yeah, I know it doesn't jive with your whole concept now, but you could package it as something Mere Mortals could aspire to next. Coasters and beds are all fine, but something a little challenging once in a while might expand what Mere Mortals are really capable of. The wash hand basin in our downstairs loo got cracked and my wife pestered me to replace it. When I found that a new basin was only £15, my resistance evaporated. But . . . . . The assistant in the plumbing shop asked if we wanted new taps as well, and my wife said 'Why not? And we could have gold finish instead of chrome, which would match the wall decoration much better !!' That meant a new 'gold' waste connector, and a 'gold' plug - and its chain. (Costs creeping up!) Then my wife remarked that the flushing handle on the toilet was chrome, so that needed replacing - along with the decorative heads on the screws that held the above-the-basin mirror, and the metal toilet-roll holder Once this was all fitted, my wife admired my handiwork, but then noticed that the rather smart Swedish locking door handle was now the wrong finish, so that had to be replaced as well. I think the total came out over £100 for the £15 basin!

I've used that exact same glue and continue to use it for all my wood to wood applications. It's results after 10 hours in clamps is an extremely rigid bond. Excellent for building or repairing furniture.

+Steve Ramsey Yes the toilets themselves work quite well, but over here at least there's a problem on the rise because of these low flush toilets. The pipes under the houses get clogged more often now because there isn't enough water to push the... stuff far enough to land in the main sewer under the street. Sometimes it just stays half way.
