SC just never loses confidence. They can decide any game in the final 3 minutes. Also, Raven is putting on a PG clinic every game - her ability to vary the pace of the game and know when to run and when to slow down is absolutely crucial for this team.

I remember seeing Cardoso at Syracuse. She was in a bad way there. Good for her to get high quality coaching. She has improved sooo much. One thing Coach Staley is getting across to Cardoso - don't rely on being 6'6". Staley is teaching her how to MOVE, use her feet, use her reach advantage of course, but move Really glad for Cardoso. Chloe Kitts just pissed me off half of the game. She got most of the turnovers and didn’t run back on defense. Didn’t box out and didn’t attempt to get rebounds.

Bree Hall struggled this game, but that 3 pointer she hit midway in the 4th was CLUTCH. It opened up the lead to 8 and the gamecocks never looked back. Ended up winning by 11.
@Bitshitter11 ай бұрын
She had at least two shots I saw in the 1st half that seemed to halfway go down the basket, then spun back out. Those 2 misses would have changed the entire game for Bree. The break-away layup miss wasn't one of those however - I think Bree thought she was about to get fouled from behind, and took her focus off of the goal. Just one of those games I guess....

This one was the most painful game to watch so far this year. No urgency. No offense. Missed lay-ups. Missed putbacks. Awful shooting %. Little rebounding in the first half. But still, they ground out a win to tie TN for the most consecutive SEC victories ever.

@@oneday5572 I had a bit of trouble finding an answer about qualifications for 6th POY in College, but the main requirement for the WNBA is you have to come off the bench more times than you started. I would assume the NCAA follows similar requirements, but maybe someone else knows exactly what qualifies/disqualifies a player in the NCAA.

Some of these comments...These are college players. There are going to be ups and downs and bad games. South Carolina is the only undefeated team in the country in men and women's basketball. If they are 24-0 with several bad games and others have 3-plus losses, whats the likelihood that South Carolina won't make the opposition have a worse game while it is having a bad game. That seems to be the pattern. These young women are not trying to lose. Going 37-0 is the goal, but it is extremely difficult to do. Enjoy the ride until it ends.

This game seems to follow the same script, play like you are a high school team in the first half, then adjustments are made during half time and a completely different team shows up in the second half and do what they do. Very difficult to watch....one day they are going to sleep walk through the first half against the wrong team and not be able to come back from it.
@waldolydecker811811 ай бұрын
same shit happened last year and Iowa smoked them. They are playing with fire...the wrong team is going to upset this team. They get plenty of open shots and layups and they seem to miss half of them....haven't really shot "lights out" since the first game in Paris. "Expert" 3-point shooter Johnson is totally inconsistent...Bree Hall as well. If they play a senior team like Colorado and miss all these open shots, they could be in trouble.

People can say what they will about grit/fight and all that. If we play like this uninspired again, we’re getting clapped way before the f-4. We can't play sluggishly in the first half when March rolls around, or some well conditioned, elite 8 team, who has a little dept is going to give us the Blues. I hope dawn do what she got to fix whatever eating this team. I know it's been a long season and compliancy might be setting in, but we frankly play down to our competition and should have beat Rocky Slop by at least 15 or 20 points. There I said it.

SC guards - Bree Hall 2-11; T PaoPao 2-9; R Johnson 1-6; T Johnson 1-5 - Combined 6-31. These are all open, at best, mildly contested shots. PaoPao is not really a concern, having proven herself in 4 years of big games. Fulwiley is not really a concern either, but Hall, Johnson and Johnson's outside shooting is up and down from game to game like a see saw.

@@Bishop56100real fans support their team and acknowledge their weaknesses. No team is perfect, every team has its flaws. I think the person above was just referring to the guards low shooting percentages, which should improve given the fact that the ncaa tournament is around the corner. @RobbieRobinsonGamecockWBB4 ай бұрын
If you're talking about the song that started playing while they were interviewing Watkins, it's, "The Tennessee Waltz." The University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band performs Tennessee Waltz at the end of each home game. Just like their fight song, "Rocky Top", the tune of is a popular Country music song. The "Tennessee Waltz" was made most popular in the 1950s by Patti Page. "Rocky Top" was written and popularized in the 1960s by The Osborne Brothers.
