Throttle controllers work great for this as well. Before you get out of the vehicle connect to the throttle controller via bluetooth and just turn your throttle off on the app on your phone, when you get back in turn the throttle back on via the app. So even if they have your actual fob they can't drive off because throttle literally does nothing. With the bluetooth and app option and no head unit for the actual controller there is no way I know of for them to even know you have one and why the vehicle won't move.

I didn't hear anything about the device preventing someone from starting/driving the truck, which makes the device essentially an Apple Air tag that can only be "hidden" in one spot: The OBD2 port. Any experienced car thief would pull that thing out, leave it in the dirt, and leave you with an annoying alarm in your pocket, but no truck. (The cops aren't likely to find it before the thieves "cool it off". If an anti-theft device doesn't prevent the vehicle from moving, it's useless. At the very least, it should force them to need a tow truck. A hidden starter kill would do more than this device. (perhaps use both)

So, yeah, my 2022 2500 Z71 was stolen in Harris County, Texas, where the sheriffs department commented, "There are 134 vehicles stolen every single day in this county! We simply do not have the manpower to investigate them, so we don't!".... Maybe that is why there are 134 a day stolen in Harris County! If you don't investigate, arrest, and convict, then it is not a crime! It is a business plan! Now, they don't take them strait to a chop shop! They take it to some neutral place where they can watch to see if someone is tracking it by means they cannot detect... In my case, an apartment complex eight miles from mine... and leave it where they can watch it. When the sheriffs department license plate scanner found mine, it was parked with nine other stolen vehicles! Worse still, I watched on the video from that apartment complex as the idiot got out of my truck and walked over to his own apartment! This would not have been a difficult case to crack, but they don't investigate.... Now, on my truck, instead of ripping off the onstar antenna, which is visible from outside, they ripped out the onstar computer... and damaged the fiber optic cable that was attached to it... made of "unobtainium". It took GM a year to have a new harness fabricated and in my truck, during which time they spent $70,000 keeping me in a like rental vehicle. The real crime is that I fix fiber optic cables for Boeing Aircraft... I have EVERY license available in this country to repair these, and it was a fifteen minute job! GM, however, has no one licensed to repair these, so they decided it had to be replaced or it would void the warranty! Silver lining??? I now drive a 2022 Chevy Silverado Z71 2500 Crew Cab Long Bed with only 8k miles on it!
