yarmannen Ali (saw) was the only caliph to be voted by the people. He ruled with justice and integrity despite the Muslims fighting him 3 times. He had all the great characteristic's wrapped up in one a very rare attribute for a man to have. He was a good man I believe in an era that was plagued by a lot of fighting . He never oppressed people and showed compassion tolerance and humanity even in battle. There is no one like Imam Ali (Saw). He was righteous as well.
