This is purely psychology at work, people other themselves to feel special, to feel strong, to feel like they’re themselves and no one can be like them. The reality is we are all capable of the same exact things, we just have so many different variations of life we all end up doing something that’s different but still cool. Or some people even become a little insane but that’s where the circumstances were and are for THEM. Our capabilities are the same, pride is what hinders us, humility will save us ❤️ that’s my take on this one.

Don’t know if it has been said but dude is wrong about 1066. It wasn’t the Anglo-Saxons that invaded (they were already present) it was the French. They brought over French not English because William the Conqueror was Duke of Normandy (which is in France) prior to winning the English throne as well from the Anglo-Saxons in the Battle of Hastings in 1066. In fact the post invasion royals and nobles detested the English language and considered it barbaric or at the very least low class. It wasn’t until 1399 that the English king took the oath at his coronation in English😊Just a casual Black American nerd here and I didn’t go to Oxford 🇺🇸

While it’s true that William the Conqueror invaded England and was eventually with crowned king in 1066, it is beyond absurd to suggest that he was responsible for introducing English to an already united England, William the Conqueror was Norman. They were French speakers. In fact, because of the rule of the Plantagenet dynasty, the English language almost went extinct. There was even a movement by many English writers to preserve the language as best they could in their writings. Only using true English words like ‘egg’. For the slow Brits, English is a Germanic language. French is a romance language. Very different.

You are entirely wrong. English started in England. What you referred to, incorrectly is old Saxon which is from Germany. After the Saxons invaded England and took over the Anglo's, old Saxon and Anglo were merged over time to create Anglo-Saxon (old English). When the French Norman's invaded and took over they mergered French with Anglo-saxon to form English. English was formed in England. That is why English is of both Germanic and Latin language family.

Being smart and intelligent are two different things, to be smart is learned and intelligence is a natural ability that everyone has. There are 9 types of intelligence, so to say Americans aren't smart is wrong because the majority of Americans are educated and aren't hyper-fixated on geography but rather on the subjects they studied. Then the comparison of IQ is weird at a 2-point difference. However, you can use intelligence in different ways, some people are faster at processing information under pressure than others. I think SOME British people are on par with SOME American people who choose to be ignorant and listen to others rather than finding the info on their own to the right answer isn't smart for me to take it at face value.
