There are also the intermediates. They may be able to beat the N Tropy times and they can win against AIs and can get in good places in online races. I'd say I'm in this category.

and another small tip: Use U-turns *a lot*. I use U-turn on every track, no matter what track it is, it always helps. Learn to use it regularly. At certain times you can save yourself from falling, losing all of your reserves/fire, if you start drifting little bit more towards the walls of the track, then you can use U-turn to not fall and save yourself, etc... So yeah, learn how to use it, and use it regularly. Coming from a player, which by WumpaLewis is called "Gods," so I know what I'm talking about.

I’ve had the game since day one, religiously played it, and religiously played the original CTR and somehow didn’t pick up on this. I’ve always considered myself to be between the advanced and god-like tier but could never fully make the transition. I was using the “brake only in the air” method and it got me by for the most part but I was always curious how people were still turning even more sharply. It’s interesting that you can actually HOLD the brake button while performing this technique, since that would be the last thing that would come to mind. Definitely going to be grinding time trials after this.

It's strange how breaking during the trick does not remove fire But the reason this is, is because you are technically still hitting the gas, just in reverse, however the fire keeps you moving forward

Trust me EVERYONE and their mom knows about Airbraking also known as U-Turn by now. Its the biggest gamebraker in the game and makes the handling stat useless. U-Turn is also the reason why Speed characters are god Tier. U-Turn needs to be removed more then anything right now.

I'd love to see a video where you do it on deep sea driving. On dragon mines I got a time of 1.27. Without the short cut because screw that.

Currently dealing with the last few Oxide ghosts and have been stuck on Dragon Mine's for a while...gotten really close a few times but the loss of speed on that corkscrew combined with the mine cart are causing me a lot of trouble....will have to try this method now.

You missed one type of player: Intermediate. These are the players that aren't new to the game, but haven't quite been able to beat Oxide's ghosts, don't always seem to get the best times, and are having trouble with timing down perfect power-slide boosts. They are fully capable of beating Story mode entirely, and maybe win races now and then, but have a very tough time keeping up with Advanced players.

You should have a 4th category for intermediate players. (This class is between begineers and advanced players.) I would consider myself an intermediate player. I am not as good as you but I would not consider myself a begineer. I am good because I have been playing CTR a long time and I understand the tracks. I don't always win but if I don't I get in 2nd or 3rd.

The reason that I can't hold my USF in some tracks is because that I get hit by 1551561 items at the same time in online lobbies. I defeated Oxide on every track on my FIRST try (except for 3 tracks that took me some time). So I think I'm somewhere between Advanced and God

U -turn = hold break + down and stear right/left, all on the D-pad, while jumping Airbreak is just let go of acceleration and hold break and stear while in air. This makes your kart do a very tight turn in the air. Just release break before you land!
