Spring campout back at the beautiful woodland with my Dad, enjoyed one week practicing skills, working on my camp build and self reflecting.
During my time, I did some archery practice with ‪@BushwackerMan‬ , rebuilt my table, cooked some gorgeous meals on the campfire and soaked up this lovely season of spring whilst staying in my arctic canvas tent.
I hope you enjoyed the video!

Lovely vid Becky! Something that might help your mice problem: If you have wild mint growing near you, collect a good bit and then stuff under your bed, and other nooks and crannies that the mice may be wondering about. Mint is a natural deterrent for mice and pest exterminators around me like to use it to drive the mice toward their traps they’ve set. Hopefully this helps and if not at least your tent will smell nice 😂 Cheers from New England!

If you can get the scented bounce fabric softener sheets and put them around the bottom of the tent that will keep the mice out. Also if you can get a metal can with a locking lid to put your food and clothing or what ever in. And its chef Becky putting together another lovely meal for herself and her dad. Nice hats. Enjoyed this camping video. Have a super wonderful day/evening.

Wonderful Becky, glad to see you with nice weather, if a little chilly in the morning, I woke up to snow this morning( 8 May). Yes the little critters will take advantage of every opportunity to get easily obtained food or nesting materials. Hope you have an awesome summer, and bring us along to enjoy it with you. I have enjoyed all the content you have shared so far, you are an amazing young lady. Here's to hoping to many more hours of that enjoyment. Take care Becky and be safe.

I dont comment on every video, but I always watch yours (and your Dad's) and your output is excellent. It is brill to see more capable women doing this life. On a side note, when I was in Finland, one of the locals made me a sort of "sausage" out of chicken mesh and scrunched up tinfoil and laid it along the walls and front & rear outside my tent, and it kept the mice out all Winter; apparently, they hate metal foil. I initially thought it was bs but after it was there I never had another rodent in mooching through my stuff. Excellent bow shooting as well, by the way 👍🏻

Mice are a problem! Emptying traps is not pleasant. I had a country home in some parkland. Mice were forever invading. As you say, poo everywhere: in stored sleeping bags, throughout my canvas tent. I opted to use a tubular bait station around the exterior walls. The bait stations used Warfarin discs that were secured inside the tubes to prevent their removal. Well-sealed, rodent-proof latching boxes protected my gear much better than did open shelving. Your Dad is getting quite good with that carving ax!

Hi Becky just a thought about the mouse problem why not try storing your food in some old metal ammo cans the mice wont be able to chew through and if you can find a metal trunk that should keep your clothes safe. if you can't find a trunk see if you can get cases for anti-tank rounds from an army surplus place.

Also, if the mice persist, a humane DIY trap can easily be made from a couple of bits of timber and an empty plastic bottle. Lots of videos showing how they can be made. The mice can be trapped while you are away and then released elsewhere afterwards.

G'day Becky and hullo from Nz. Anything that needs oil for cooking, I use duck fat. It was suggested to me. Apparently it's one of the good fats. I've used oils in the past, but they don't squeal my tyres. Then I throw in a small amount of bacon, just for the bacon fat and pour the combined fats while hot into a small heat proof container. You've now got yourself the perfect base for cooking any beef dish. If you use a smoked bacon, then that adds another dimension to your cooking. Once the fat has solidified, then you'll find you use less fat each time. Unfortunately anytime the word "fat"is mentioned, people panic. Try it Becky. Btw I've seen 74 summers and had a heart event about 7 yrs ago. And I've actually lost weight. Anyway enough of the health advice, 😆. Loving your channel. Take care and stay safe. Atb from down here.

So relaxing to hang out with you in the woods! However for me this video had a bonus instructional feature: I totally learned something about how to slice a tomato! 🍅🤔😀 I always hate it when I squeeze the “guts” out when I am slicing them because the skin can be tough to break through. I caught how you just gave it a little stab with the tip to open a slice to cut through! Thanks!

to aim, the guiding eye is independent of whether you are left-handed or right-handed and you have the best results if you aim with your directing eye! to find it, take a target a few meters away, put your thumb in front of the 2 open eyes and hide the target. then close one eye and see if your thumb covers the target with the eye open! or simpler ... go look through a keyhole ... normally you will automatically look with your directing eye.
