I’ve had this exact Sealander for about 3 months and I gotta say I love it. Bracelet feels heavy and quality, doesn’t pull hairs. The applied indices are beautiful to look at, and the white is just gorgeous. It’s my daily driver right now, love it 👍🏽

I own a CW Sealander 39mm GMT with the CW rubber strap and consort bracelet. Absolutely fantastic watch. Zero regrets and or compliments. Considering the build quality, the fact how this watch has its own distinct styling even while taking design inspiration from an Explorer. I’d same it’s a home run. Especially since it’s also coming in roughly 10x less expensive than an Explorer.

Glad to see a video of a more updated version of this watch. The bracelet looks great. Would love one in black. Now I got to decided between this and the New Blue and white GMT. Cheers.

Owner of Sealander 36mm gmt (black) is here! I think this watch is phenomenal - the look, the feel, the case, the bracelet - I love everything. By no means I think it's a tool watch (too shiny "lightcatcher"), and I'm 100% okay with that. This watch is like an exciting mix of Explorer I and Explorer II for me: black dial & 36 mm size of the I, gmt & steel bezel of the II + some unique CW features (trident, quick-release bracelet). I will be definitely keeping an eye on the new CW releases I love your videos and your collection. Cheers!

@@Markinthemix @jacobtuck6735 I've purchased in April, 24 and got old long clasp. This is the worst thing about the watch - it's huge, it's uncomfortable. I've replaced it with aftermarket smaller clasp. Even without on-the-fly adjustment it looks and feels way better. But I've read they are sending new clasps now, but not sure

@@jacobtuck6735 @Markinthemix I've purchased the watch March 2024 and it came with the large clasp. The clasp is the weakest side of the watch - it's huge and it's ugly and it's uncomfortable. I couldn't get used to it and replaced it with cheap aftermarket clasp. It doesn't have on-the-fly adjustment but it's way way more comfortable (and even looks better!) I've read CW are sending shorter clasps now, but I don't know for sure

I find the Sealander GMT more appealing in almost every way than the Explorer 2. The size, thinner bezel, light catcher case shape, and especially the absence of Mercedes or Snowflake hands are all plusses. But we all have different tastes and i hope you enjoy getting the Explorer 2. We disagree but this was a nice video.

The Sealsnder GMT is more reminicent of the Grand Seiko SBGN003, a watch I hope to own. I am however considering the black dial CW GMT.

If the hour hand were under the GMT hand, it would be partially covered by the latter for more than an hour. They made the right choice here.

I got the 39mm when the logo was still black. Like it ok, but then they released the 36mm version with the brushed applied logo and I had to have it. It’s a great piece, but it never truly filled the space in my heart that only a neo-vintage explorer II will… one day

love the collection, everything has a purpose and the main thing is that you love them, my pick would the black bay pro if they make it thinner I'm at the AD tomorrow haha!

That watch is super impressive. The thin bezel makes the dial larger.

I wish you would’ve checked out the 36mm version. In my opinion, a more interesting watch and I wanted to know if it had the on the fly extension too. Keep up the great work and consistent uploads :)

I found the explorer 2 wore too large on my 6.5 inch wrist. The older models with the 39mm case I think are a much better fit although the bracelet isn't as nice as the latest version.

That’s interesting about the higher rehault. So in theory, this watch could be thinner. Great vid. Thanks.

Did you get a chance to compare the 39mm to the 36mm? I've never seen either in person but from pictures and videos the 36mm looks much more balanced in the dial with the hands, markers, etc. I've been considering finding a used 36mm in black lately.

Personally I am not a huge fan of the Explorer 2. I am however a fan of the Grand Seiko SBGN003. By most people the GS is also considered an Explorer 2 homage, however I prefer the look overall. The Christopher Ward looks much more like the GS than the Rolex. I am considering buying the black dial version. I do like the fact that it is a tool watch that can be dressed up.

I've never owned an Explorer 2, but I always liked it a lot. At 6.5", it's now much too big for me and for you too. The Christopher Ward is indeed proportionately phenomenally balanced. And that's at this price. It's always funny that True GMT is important to the idiots who only use this function once in their lives because they're basically armchair farters. Those who actually need the GMT function don't mind this extra adjustment at all. Above all, you can try out lots of alternative straps.
@WatchmakerErik4 ай бұрын
I was not thinking the Rolex explorer too because you already have two basically identical GMT watches with different color dials. I don't see the point of adding a third without getting rid of at least one of the others.

You make great videos but you should work on your grammar/vocabulary. “More smooth” = smoother. “Remebered again” = Reminded. Checks on this in editing would take your channel to the next level imo.

You lost me with explorer ii Homage. Yes it's a GMT yes it has a white dial but it's not a copy or even a near copy. This is like calling a Audi A6 a Porsche panamera homage.
