For sizing stems in the future, you should use a pair of end nippers or diagonal cutters. Harbor freight sells a set of 6 small precision pliers that includes an end nipper and diagonal cutter. After cutting stem, just use a small piece of sand paper to smooth out the end of stem. Great job on the moon swatch.

Both are easy to answer: Why would Swatch do this? Because they thought it would be a big hit, and they were right. I have a Moonswatch, and I love it. The fact that it is unservicable is 100% irrelevant and does not matter, at all, to people who buy and love $50 to $200 watches. Weak argument. The shell, glass and bracelet are third party anyway. So being a “stickler for authenticity” is not so relevant. Essentially you are wearing a genuine Omega / Swatch movement with added third party enhancements. Arguably you can say still a Honda but on steroids. With the mod, it can line up next to a Mercedes and still rise up to the challenge. Nonetheless, aesthetically it looks stunning, the movement is genuine and of value.

that's funny, i had the opposite view. i see a lot of sense in this cause with a pagani, you lose (almost) all history of the moonwatch and its brands imo. you just have an unrelated company producing watches using stolen designs. instead of a collaboration between the original makers of the original moonwatch that was okay-ed by NASA for flight, was the first watch worn on the lunar surface, and the watch that was worn on all the moon landings, and Swatch, a swiss watch brand that has important history in the watch industry over its 40 years of operation and its okay to not care about that, or not agree. you can argue that the pagani does carry that history with it, as it has the same design and is clearly as homage to it. or you can not care about the history, in which case the pagani makes way more sense for build quality vs price & effort. this is something that i would do--because it also makes it cooler! it would be a little more my own. so i see a lot of sense in it!
