I think the hardest part about quitting weed is the awful boredom that sets in. In those times it's a good idea to leave the house and go do something - preferably something that will take up most of the day and involves at least a little physical exercise. Then you come back, take a shower, eat a hot meal and things seem quite normal. If I sit around all day it makes it a lot harder to quit.

This is so true though. I hope this isn't cliche in a way but I know for a fact that if it weren't for me starting a gym routine, I'd have been smoking up every single day for the past 2 months. I’ve smoked daily since I was 15, I’m 22. Last year I cut back to the point of smoking 2 -3 times a week. Best decision I ever made. I was much happier and while there’s so much more to it than just cutting the weed back I know that made a huge difference. To any of you trying to cut back or struggling with it. I’ve relapsed like 3 times but I’ll never stop pushing to use it how I believe it should be used. It’s been hard and sometimes I feel like I’ve failed myself. But trust me you’ll never regret trying to better yourself and smoking weed everyday is not bettering yourself. It’s relying on a comfort zone which always reduces your comfort zone leaving you less comfortable in more situations. You have to seek discomfort in order to increase your comfort zone and feel comfortable in more situations. It’s a bit of a paradox but do some research into it and you’ll find many people who will explain it better than I. Good luck warriors, you got this!

I'm currently on day 3 of cold turkey after smoking basically every day for the past 5 years. It got to the point where I refused to confront the fact that I was addicted to being high all day. It was severely affecting my relationships, my self-esteem, my motivation levels, and not to mention that my bank account was suffering as well. I'm a stubborn person. It took me almost losing my family to finally decide I don't need weed. It's hard not to miss it, but when something that I would find happiness in is so detrimental to virtually everything around me, it makes me not even want to partake. It's time for a new chapter in my life, time to take control of my life. This video was so encouraging and shows me I'm not alone, so thank you

I'm currently hooked, and have been for the past 8 years or so. Smoke everyday after work, feels great, almost like rebalancing my inner-vibes, or something like that. Thing is, a part of me if begging my weed-loving side to quit. I'll smoke, play video games after work, then it's past midnight (I start work at 8am) and I'm thinking of things that I could've done, like work out that day, or finish up projects. I start regretting smoking, and start pumping myself up, thinking of plans and ways to avoid the habit. Then tomorrow comes. I go to work, crave, get home, load up a bowl, and go into my little corner of the universe to repeat it the next day. It's depressing thinking about it all while writing this. And even moreso, that as I'm writing this at work, I can't wait to go home, spark up, and get immersed in my game where no one can hurt, or bother me. LOL, then it'll be 1:30 AM, I need to wake up in like 5 hours, and start telling myself I'll be a better person the next day. I think what contributes to my addiction is the fact all my few friends moved away and my girlfriend stresses me out. Sounds dumb, but she's one of my only forms of human connection off-line, so I keep her around. Fuck. I think I'm doomed lol.

I smoked every day for about 5 years. And I mean all day everyday, it was bad. I took a year off, and I gotta say it felt great. Knowing I have that level of self control, and just being sober for a year (aside from the occasional drink) was a very interesting experience. I don't know if I just matured because I'm getting older, or if I just started thinking a little more level headedly cuz I was sober, but I changed a lot during that time. It really helped me in my transition from being a kid to being an adult. I still smoke now, but it's nowhere near what I was doing before. I was abusing it, and it wasn't til I was sober that I realized even tho yeah, weed isnt as dangerous as heroin or coke, that doesn't mean it can be abused. I'll take a few drags off my pen after work to unwind for the day, or at night to help me sleep, but people need to be aware of that. It's legal now, but so is alcohol, and just cuz you can legally drink a beer after work, doesn't mean you need to down a whole fuckin keg. You gotta keep urself in check, and know ur limits. You don't need to be zooted 24/7, cuz then ur never gonna be ur true self. Ur gonna be ur stoned self, and after years of smoking heavily I know that it gets hard to even think ur not being urself. It's weird. So smoke up guys, just be responsible please. Im not tryna chastise anyone in this comment, I just don't want y'all to have to go thru that same experience

Bro, this comment right here..... I'm day 5 sober after smoking way too much every day for the past 5 years. At first, I only smoked on the weekends, then during the lock downs it became every day. I gotta tell you, I feel like having a goddamn joint! I mean, on the one hand I feel like I would be letting myself and every one down, but on the other hand, I think keeping it to the weekend would be a good balance of moderation. I don't know what to do. Everyone told me that it killed their motivation, but for me it became the opposite. Last year and a half I started exercising every day, lost 40lbs, got a job..... you know, legit life progress, so motivation wasn't an issue for me. This started as my first, long-overdue tolerance break just so that weed would actually get me high again when I smoke, but now I wonder if I should go back. I like weed! In moderation it's fine, just like alcohol and the like, but I was abusing it badly. Tomorrow is Saturday, day 6 off the herb and I have the weekend off - I want to take a toke of a J and play some video games, you know? Relax.... but I'm feeling guilty just thinking about it.... I don't know what to do. I feel like I can keep it to the weekends with the discipline I've built over the last year, but at the same time everyone around me is saying I shouldn't. I don't know what to do!
@autonomous81082 жыл бұрын
@@AdamBorseti well I'm just a random guy on KZbin. Do what feel truly right to you. If YOU think it's a bad idea, and you're gonna feel guilty, maybe it's not worth it. But if you know you have the discipline to keep urself in check, then I don't see any problem with it. Cuz I've been there too where I smoke, and feel guilty after. So I just do what feels right to me personally, what I know I can handle. Congrats on being able to keep urself in check at all. It can be quite testing lol
@WigganNuG2 жыл бұрын
@@AdamBorseti Bro for real, just taking a couple days off... you get way faded when you hit one after work just before dinner... ohhhh dinner is good after a couple tokes and you haven't smoked in 3 days! I mean think about it; you get tolerance and what you do feel just becomes normal after doing it all day for like 30 to 60 day's. That's all it takes to get your whole nervous system and brain chemistry to become acclimated to a particular state so when you stop, your brain goes into signal mode letting you know you need to do whatever you do to put the brain chemistry back in "balance" because that's what it thinks balance is. Hence, anxiety, and massive night sweats. You also don't really achieve good sleep when you smoke before bed! It helps you GET to sleep, but not the best sleep.

I’m 30 yrs old, took my first drink of alcohol when I was 10, tried weed at 13-14, became a heavy weed smoker & drug user at 16, crazy times were ahead of me. Weed was (& still is) my main vice, alcohol was the next best thing if I wasn’t smoking(or the perfect plus with the weed), I was the type to go to the bar by myself during the middle of the week. At 23 I checked in to rehab cause I kept shoving shit up my nose and popping pills on top of the weed and alcohol. Got out of rehab at 24 and woooooo I relapsed HARD!!!!! BACK TO DOING THE COKE!!! The molly!!! The ACID!!!! The shrooms!!! Oh and weed/alcohol. Fast forward, at 25 my younger cousin (19 yrs old) dies from a toxic mix of heroin,coke, & shrooms, apparently that was his way of celebrating his dead best friends birthday 🤷🏻♂️ 😞 , to this day I still don’t understand it but I’ve accepted that reality now nevertheless. For a while I felt very guilty as I felt my negative influence helped him go down the wrong path and ultimately leading to his demise, I promised his mom I would stop the drugs, and I broke the promise like any addict would. For a year after his death I was still fucking around, but little by little I was cutting drugs. Haven’t tripped on psycs since 25, haven’t popped pills or snorted blow since 26. Started to cut down my drinking since 29, now the weed tho fuck I been smoking mostly every day till recently where I’m cutting down my consumption to 4-5 days a week. I’m actually quite an active guy I like working out I like studying but fuck I love weed lmao. On day 2 of quitting after smoking and vaping for 3 years. The symptoms are rough man my appetite is gone, energy is low, I’m irritable. I’m not giving up though. The longer I continue getting high, the worse off I’ll be. Whenever I feel the urge to take a hit, I remind myself that I’m not relieving anything, I’m only pushing what I’m avoiding today to the next day. Any benefits I think I gain from being high are not real. I used to feel that being high made me more social and relaxed, but really it made me more isolated and anxious. The cycle will continue until you break it. This video helped a lot. It’s good to know what to expect after quitting and this helped in realizing that what I’m feeling is normal and it won’t last forever Stay strong everyone, you can beat this.
@darkdevilone86132 жыл бұрын
I don't want to undermine you wanting to cut back or stop smoking, but the entire isolated and anxious feeling isn't because of weed really. It's societies perception of you doing drugs, especially weed how its classified as one of the most dangerous drugs by the government. Have you ever had anxiety issues hanging out with friends and smoking? Because usually with most its only when they go out in public with people they don't know and we know some people may not like that you smoke. It can cost us our job, or possibly friends and family if they find out. Hence the anxiety and isolated feeling that's so common. Other more powerful drugs just make you literally not care how people see you so they can go out in public without worry like when people smoke weed. Weed just isn't strong enough to make people not care.

@@darkdevilone8613 sorry man but that’s not true, even though there isn’t much physical addiction possible, mental addiction can happen with anything. I speak from experience, when you smoke multiple times every day for months there is a first week of hell where you feel demotivated and not as happy just doing nothing like you get used to. It’s a simple equation, weed gives you an increase in serotonin reception and sensitivity. After long enough if a person has formed a mental “dependence” (only some people do) then there’s a decrease in how much serotonin in your brain and you don’t feel as much euphoria from day to day things. That being said, the wonderful thing about weed is that after about 3 weeks to a month your brain is able to completely reset itself and almost all adverse effects leave. The rest is up to settling on your own or with a therapist
@tonyflamingosucks65902 жыл бұрын
You got this bro, after a month your brains chemistry will have had time to reset fully and you should be feeling a lot better. After awhile you should try it again if you want, but maybe you should limit yourself to 1.5 grams a week (just an example) if you’re in a legal state I’d recommend trying bud that has a higher CBD to THC ratio for more calming and less high. Alternatively, you could try some heavy indica leaning bud, a lot of weed related anxiety is because someone is smoking sativa. Whatever you decide to do, don’t let anyone else’s judgements change your mind. You know what’s best for yourself at the end of the day. Good luck bro! God bless

I went straight into insomniac mode, whether that being a subconscious thing or a side effect from stopping cold turkey. I’m starting to get a handle on it with Muay Thai training, breathing exercises and reading before bed. I think I’m just over a week in now, so I’m staying positive and enjoying a full night of sleep here and there. I’ve only smoked for a couple of years, but and what a pleasure it has been.

I stopped smoking weed about 7 weeks ago after socially smoking for around 5 years and then becoming addicted and smoking on my own multiple times a day for around 4/5 years and although it's the best decision I've ever made, to start with I couldn't eat for days as I used to smoke a blunt before I ate anything and the nightmares were SO intense that I almost caved every single day. Even if I was having a good dream it felt so real that when I woke up I was heart broken that it was just a dream, it's so crazy but I stuck to it. I'm so proud of myself and now I'm saving hundreds of pounds a month which I am going to put towards buying a home for me and my partner and our future children🥰 good luck to anyone trying to quit💖

I started smoking at 13. after my 16th birthday my parents sent me to a wilderness program and spent 3 months in the woods. I smoked weed nicotine and did whatever drugs I could get my hands on (besides a few). Nature is a powerful thing so powerful I had no withdraws. I could never have done it on my own and am so thankful for the help. at first I still planned to smoke once I left the program and thankfully they taught me and I learned about myself enough to know weed and other drugs are not for me. I am now 18 and 2 years sober and still going strong. this comment is more for me than anyone else but good luck to all of you struggling with drugs or anything in life.

Because of all that I now have to live with severe depression and anhedonia. After I quit I literally could not experience any type of positive emotion. Sex, food, video games etc. literally brought me no pleasure whatsoever. Let me tell you personally, it has to come from faith that quitting actually helps and has its own dopamine rewards. I saw this video; kzbin.info/www/bejne/babClKBrl5ambbs and it says things feel most unfun in the first three days, but by around day 4 youll begin enjoying things again and having a regular appetite. That all continues to increase with time. That vid is a good watch, its only 7 mins long I hard recommend it. I myself have been smoking underage daily for a couple years and I was going to go on a 4 week break just to reset my tolerance, but now I’m there and it just feels like itd be a shame to stop now. My advice is to remember all the self-progress you lose whenever you smoke.

I started at 14, got heavily into it when I was 16 and I’m 20 now. My daily dosage is usually a joint or 2 a day but honestly I miss my early teen years because I didn’t have too depend on a substance to feel “alright” in everyday life. Since I became a pothead I started experiencing crazy anxiety, depression, also weird dreams as well. I assume it’s because I started pretty young but when I was younger I was just a naturally happier and lively person, growing up as a kid I never knew what “anxiety” even was, I miss my younger self. As much as I consider quitting I’m deadly afraid of going thru the withdrawals. If your a teenager reading this I plz recommend to not even touch it till you hit your 20s at the least, therefore your not stunning brain development like I have. Plz pray I find the mental strength one day…
@halevirginia95232 жыл бұрын
Your frontal cortex of your brain is not fully developed until age 25, it is so important to stop NOW while your brain is still developing. I am on day 6 after smoking for many many many years. The withdrawals suck, but I 100% believe it is better to do it now, while you are young. People are also more forgiving of weird, crappy (withdrawal induced) behavior from young people than older people. Anyway I hope you know I am not judging you, I just know how much better I feel, my mental health, my physical health, my relationship with the people around me, all of it has improved and I'm not even done detoxing. Believe in yourself! Put yourself first!

I started smoking weed in 11th grade back in 1999, and by senior year I was an unmotivated pothead. Then I dropped out of my local community college at 19 and began doing heroin. I battled that addiction on and off for years and finally got clean then relapsed. I started using Suboxone and then came off that in prison and realized I was better off being chemical free. I know I damaged my development but I am 40 now and feel good. It's way better to realize this at a young age.
@Jaikanatar Жыл бұрын
You didn't stunt your brain development, the studies on that are very inconclusive and there is very little evidence to suggest that marijuana has a negative, or even very measurable impact on brain development. In fact I'd even say that the stress that it reduces can aid in knowledge retention because of heightened interest as well as patience. With my A.D.D I'm not sure I would've gotten through to completing my bachelors degree without some assistance from marijuana. And there aren't "withdrawals" persay just feeling like you're disrupting a habit and a pattern. If you've got something worthwhile and enjoyable as a hobby or an activity, often times you'll get the same fix out of that as you would the habit of smoking a bowl. I started smoking weed when I was 14 and smoked heavily until I was 27, then started taking week long breaks at a time and now I moderate back and forth and feel great both ways. Weed is there to elevate what you're doing, not to be the thing that you're doing. And by the way the very worst of the withdrawals were simply that feeling of wanting to and not being able to, and that goes away in less than a week. Just quit for a week and recognize that you're in control and that moderation is key. You don't depend on weed to function, and you're not gonna be lost without it

It took me like 3 attempts to actually stop smoking, I just didn’t want it enough for myself. On so many occasions I would tell myself “this is the last time I’ll get high” and that’s how you know it’s truly an addiction. It got to the point where smoking would make my feel physically sick and I still wouldn’t stop. I forget what the actual line was that I drew but I haven’t smoked in a month, I feel like I’m actually becoming myself again and it’s great. Definitely a journey and there’s definitely some days after work where all I can think of is smoking but then I think about how far I’ve made it without smoking. I would just be extremely disappointed in myself if I let all this progress go for 2 hours of being faded. Another great video bro thanks for this

It's like alcohol, if you treat it that way, yo will be fine
@punkgrl3253 жыл бұрын
@@smgv2421 You just described alcohol though, which is absolutely a drug. Alcohol is worse than weed and far more damaging to you; it literally destroys your liver over time. The only reason alcohol isn't illegal is because of how much prohibition failed in the 20th century. Meanwhile, weed was only made illegal and a schedule 1 because Harry Anslinger hated mexicans and black people and wanted an excuse to lock them up using the now-defunct alcohol prohibition department of our government at the time. Part of the reason hazings started being banned on college campuses was because college freshmen would drink themselves into a coma and suffer brain death the following day. In comparison, at its very worse, weed has caused some people to develop schizophrenia over time, although it's relatively rare. Thinking alcohol is somehow less dangerous or harmful than weed was propoganda from the start and not based on any credible scientific research, which is why it's deemed as schedule 1 to begin with (categorized as being deadly and having no accepted medicinal value).

Just seeing this as I am literally going through almost the same thing exactly. Today is day 5 for me without weed after 10+ years everyday use. You always here people say weed is not addictive or that it's only addictive mentally so I didn't think it would be that bad quitting cold turkey but to my surprise these withdrawals been kickin my ass, anxiety, nightmares, headaches, shitty sleep/mood. I'm not ashamed of weed or downing it either, I know many use it benefitially and I'm probably not quitting for good but just want to prove to myself I can go a month without it and see what it does for my mental clarity. I've been sober from alcohol for a year and a half now and that's been great. I am not training/exercising atm but I should be for my overall health and you inspire me to do that as well. I too have not written or recorded a song since I quit. Appreciate this 🙌💯

Stopped smoking weed in December, was supposed to be for 2 weeks but lasted the entire month and man the dreams coming back are a trip, I felt everything you said about how you feel and the clarity aspect of it. It was clear to me that I hadn't dealt with some issues that kept coming up in my dreams and really made me think, and I had the time too because I wasn't using that time to get high. Christmas came and I got back on the zaza train but noticed I didn't need it as much or even WANT to do it as much. I really felt the confidence that weed gave me in social situations come naturally at this point. It all comes down to balance and moderation, I'm glad you touched on that. Everything in this life is about balance. This was my introduction to your channel and I will be sticking around. Much peace and success to you.
